Many companies nowadays are so arrogant. If you work for one of these toxic companies, not only should you not give them any notice, just quietly clean out your office over a couple weeks time, then just stop showing up. Don't even bother telling them that you left their employ. Let them figure it out. F* them!

Most employers actually “DO” give you two weeks notice, usually more than two weeks notice. When they start writing you up, and giving you PIPs, you’re getting your notice. If a company outright fired you, you probably did actually do something that warranted it.

Thankyou for your videos. I, and many others, really appreciate them! Have you had any cases where an employer has been basically trying to make the employees ‘work’ life a living hell in order to get them to quit? I feel like I had that situation when I worked for a Michaels a few years ago. I quit because my manager at the time was bullying me. I even refused full-time because I didn’t want to work with her 40 hours a week. I put in my ‘two weeks’ but told my store manager that my last day would be a bit over week(because I didn’t want to work with my bully manager)

I genuinely don’t wanna give a 2 weeks notice for this job I just wanna leave. But my dad’s saying if I just quit without it, it’ll go on my record and fuck up a chance at another job. Is that true?
@BobaDavis10 ай бұрын
I mean, you certainly won't be able to use them as a positive reference - if you don't need them, quit. But I don't know the specifics of your situation: is it simply the case that you don't like the job but you need to "man up" and deal? If you have another job lined up, go ahead - if you don't, wait until you have the next job to tell your current that you're done.

Personally I think the custom/courtesy of two weeks notice should just be done away with. There are too many companies that tell you to just pack your stuff and leave while a guard walks you out like a criminal. Losing two or even one weeks pay could be someone's rent or food. The trouble is, people are afraid NOT to give two weeks because it looks bad for them because it is still pretty much expected. So people are at the mercy of these companies and hope they can finish out their two weeks. Maybe a law requiring severance pay for that two weeks they won't let you finish? Either let them work it or pay them the two weeks to just leave.
