Yes, you basically need stellar performance on the job in order to protect yourself or not be exposed in case of termination by your employer. This includes always to revert with questions, seeking clarifications or spelling out conditionalities, assumptions, and/or soliciting support/input from others, and copying your manager and others, when being assigned or faced with nearly impossible tasks, or worse, being set up to fail. Always put all these conditions in writing, write and circulate regular progress reports in which you highlight the risks (and related input/corrections needed from others) of the activity/project which you were entrusted with. This way no one can say they didn't know or blame you for the failure which was outside your control.

I would get out of there if you're miserable. Life is to short to be miserable. The key is to try to find something else before quitting your current job.

Went from a 6 man team in a warehouse down to 2 people plus the lead. We were still required to do just as much as day shift and they had 8 people in same department. Plus my co worker and I had to jump from three different jobs, constantly getting yelled at because we had to do this, that and more. And meantime our main line was backing up. Other departments could hire people. But they were not hiring in warehouse the last guy they hired. Worked/trained under the lead for 9 hours. And the next day he quit. Lol 😂
