Yes! Go to college for music business. If the schooling is free like here in Norway. It was a blessing for me to get my master degree in music management/business. It has not only taught me the business side for music, but has enable me to connect with others who are also in the music business. It takes time, but it's worth it.

I wish I had this video a few years back when I enrolled in a music business program at a school in NJ. After auditioning, getting in, and starting the semester, I was failing immediately because of my inability to read music (I thought music business would be strictly industry information). I had to switch my major while I was still able to. I can definitely say that I’ve had more insight into music business just by networking and performing, than by using the college structure to further my craft. Thank you for this!

Yes totally agree not worth paying for as a lot of it you can get online and probably the dusty rest you won't need. I work in TV I fell into it and now at manager level. I did not have a degree some jobs you just wing it on, it's the best way.

I did just for fun and because...Iove music...I have an Associate of Science degree in Music and Video business. I loved it. I knew I wasn't going to use the degree unless I moved to a place like NYC which I was not going to do. Oh it did get me a job in Finance LOL. I have worked for a communications company and a huge entertainment company and now at a huge university all in Finance.

Vidyam Kaushik I studied with a Berklee online and the degree I got was Bachelor’s of Professional Studies in Music Business. Honestly it was enjoyable knowing people from different parts of the world and connecting with professors through online chat but it is tough finding a job. Or maybe it could be me just having trouble

The point you made about technology and the business growing and changing so rapidly is exactly what I was just talking to my friend about. I was super curious about how I would get taught, and if the knowledge would actually be beneficial. Good to know it's more generalized so it can't necessarily be outdated, though probably not as efficient in progressing through the industry compared to having the current know how and what's what.

DO NOT GO TO SCHOOL FOR ART.. unless its free.. especially music.. be realistic... school is far to over priced for that.. if your art is your worth anything to u.. keep your money and invest it in a home. So you can have more time to create it.

I've just enrolled into a music college/uni and I do know that it helps for networking also, if you have amazing tuition if you paid that in the real world that'd literally be a 2nd mortgage😂 so think about how you can use the college and think if it's right. The one I went too is called warerbear in england and recently has been sponsored by royal blood & Corey wong also they don't sell you the opporties. Mai ly because most of the time it's literally down to you.
