I've my diesel heater coupled to an auxiliary battery to make sure, it will not drain the starter batteries. Well explained job. Thanks for sharing and keep on rolling!

An easy option is to mount it in your front wing and plumb the output pipe into the existing heater system . Keeps it tucked out of the way and you don't lose any space anywhere and keeps the operating noise to a minimum .
@BorisTheDefender2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s a good idea, would get a bit weathered with the off-roading I do though haha

That sounds good, any pics, please.

An easy solution is in an insert below the central cubby box. Out of the way and you can mount air intake and exhaust higher so there is less risk of flooding.

Have you done it ? Just about to do it, any pics or advice.

Strata Florida, as good a test as any. I decided to buy an all in one and mount it on a hook bracket on the rear tyre carrier (Hilux Surf). Keeps all of the noise and potential gas leaks outside, easier to fill, and only 2 power wires to plumb inside to the battery. Fingers crossed it will work how I want it to.

Yeah that’s a great idea!!

Did you ever fit to wheel carrier? Interested as I had a surf ssrg but now run a Patrol which has a wheel carrier same as surf. Looking at keeping spare wheel but some way that heater will fit into "dish" of wheel. Rather that than fit heater inside car. Heater pipe, I guess need to cut hole in door but ok with that.

Great video I'm definitely going to try one as my 110 is so cold you could transport beef

Brilliant video, thank you. I have just bought my heater (£80), not arrived yet. I’m buying a under the cubby box , box from Mud UK and will be plumbing it into the fuel line so no separate fuel tank. I’ll let you know how I get on. But your vid has convinced my that this is the way forward as my fitted heater is pathetic 😂

On my LHD 4-door camping-converted Defender 110 Td5 I have a Eberspächer mounted under the cubby-box (on the outside) above the gearbox, with the heater blowing through a hole drilled where the rear passenger footwell is. The car is also equipped with an extra battery. The installation was done by the previous owner. I fits rather good but I can't be driving through any deep water.

Nice video, just installing one of these myself... Have to say it seems a bit bonkers to put the tank right next to the heater... Especially when it's on its side!

@@BorisTheDefender Why didn't you simply replace the fuel cap with a bent nozzle filler with cap or bent spout & cap? That way the fuel canister and heater could have been pushed properly straight inside the space, as well as making refills of fuel much easier.

Seen somewhere else , to suspend the pump in mid air with cable ties so its not actually touching anything , this will reduce the noise

If the heater catches fire & melts the fuel tank, then the diesel will put the fire out ... Its not like petrol lol
