You’re not really looking at it the proper way. Just because there are 7k+ perfect 10 copies of umbreon and only 1k+ of the blaziken vmax doesn’t mean that the blaziken is rarer. Yeah there might be less perfect copies out there but it doesn’t mean that there are less total copies of it vs umbreon. Now granted none of us have the actual print numbers per se, but I would venture to guess that they tried printing the same amount of the alt arts (for each set) throughout the sword and shield era. Meaning if they printed 50k of the blaziken they probably printed that same amount of umbreons and other various vmax alt arts 🤷‍♂️ and probably the same with the alt art v’s (which I could see them maybe printing more of the v’s than the vmax alts). The reason why there are 7k+ 10’s of the umbreon is purely because collectors know that it carries a lot of value and why not increase that value and try for a 10? The 20-30$ that it costs to send in and get graded isn’t going to eat into the value of the card you’re sending in when it’s already 600$+ raw. So even if you only get a 9 or 8 it’s not going to eat into your profits like it would on a less valuable card like the blaziken. Basically what I’m saying is people are more likely to send the umbreon in to get graded vs other alt arts and that’s why you are getting these high pop counts on it vs other alts. Just because there are 7k+ 10’s out doesn’t mean ES was printed any better than any other sword & shield set it (because like you stated if that were the case there would most likely be more rayquaza’s and various other vmax alts from that set but there aren’t). It’s the biggest card in a while and all the collectors want it for their collections so don’t think just because there are that many 10s out there that they’re just going to be sold left and right because a lot of these people want it in their personal collections and that’s where a lot of them will stay (unless they’re consistently going for 10k a pop 😆) I don’t see these collectors letting these go from their PC’s for a long while 🤷‍♂️

I personally think it will be worth a fortune in the next 10 years, so will the booster boxes. You have to look at the reprints. If it gets reprinted then the prices will most likely drop a tad, although last time they reprinted evolving skies the moonbreon carried on rising. Also, I very much doubt they will reprint again, which in this case they will carry on shooting up, especially the booster boxes as lots of people are keeping them sealed. Personally dude, I’d 100% get a moonbreon now whilst you still can without paying silly money like £10,000 like it probably will be in the next 10-15 years in a PSA 10. BGS 10 has sold for £12,000+ already.

This card seems to evolved into a poster child of the hobby and is being regarded as the face of the S&S era. It has quite literally become an NFT for one of the largest and most profitable TCG franchises ever to exist. But the cool thing, you can actually hold it. And so can others. I don’t think the popularity of this card is going to wane very quickly, there is too much money and desire and legend around it now. If anything it will hold value because of said money. No one is going to spend that much on a card just to give it up for less, that isn’t realistic. And the funny thing about it is that everyone holding the cards decide the price. Not going to say it will sell at that, but hey maybe it will.

So tbh I think you’re completely wrong about the Umbreon dude no offence. Personally, I’d buy now or it will be so expensive. Remember, lots of people will keep this sealed product for the future, which means it will shoot up in price continuously. Also, they aren’t printing evolving skies again, which also means it will shoot up in price.

This card has a high pop count because of submission not because of print quantity. Popularity is what drives market value not population.

Today i went to my LHS and was looking to purchase Select Basketball for Wemby hunting. I saw the one & only Evolving Skies pack sitting under the Glass shelf. I asked how much they said $15. I ended up purchasing. Went home and ripped it. Unbelievable i hit the Umbreon Vmax Alt and its beautiful. Centering looks perfect. Surface looks perfect and thats under a Microscope too. Should i submit to get graded and hold? Should i hold Raw? Should i grade & Sell now? Or should i sell Raw now? Lmk your opinion please!? There may be 7000 out there, but remember, there’s millions of Pokémon collectors so 7000 is absolutely nothing. The chance you’ve got of pulling this card is almost impossible. Stats show that you have 1 out of 1200 packs to pull this card. In the uk evolving skies is around £12-£13 a pack so probably 20 dollars to get 1 pack of evolving skies booster pack. So 1200 booster packs would be well over £22,000 in British sterling. Or 40,000 dollars in packs in the US. Believe me, this card in 10 years time will be worth thousands in a 10.

My dears, everything gets more expensive over time, even food. pokemon is number 1 general sales are sick. Even if it drops a little, over time it will become more expensive than anything else in the world. and the PoP up is extremely high which however shows it is popular like nothing else. 2020 was the turning point in Pokemon. a new generation is coming. Umbreon will be at 3-5k in 10-15 years and good BGS 10 5-6k. Black Label at 15-20K. Our children today will have stable jobs in 10 years and then buy their childhood cards, and there is Umbreon like our Charizard back then. + Charizard was in every 2 boxes but Umbreon 50+ boxes. whether tomorrow or in 2 years it doesn't matter at all. The plan is 10 years and believe me you will wish you had paid 1k today. lg

I pulled my Umbreon vmax alt art from my very first single hanging back a few months ago. It was hidden in between other packs and was the last one. When pulled i had no idea what it was and had to look it up. Funny i spent $5 which was in store credit from a trade for the card. When people havw spent hundreds if not thousands on finding it. Pulled an Espeon vmax alt art a week earlier in my first 3 fusion strike packs from another in store credit trade.

if you zoom out evolving skies is the best set to invest in, if you buy it at a good price. just because i think one card is over valued doesn’t mean the set is. there’s alot of hype with the umbreon vmax and has a huge population. evolving is a huge set with more then one chase card. also long term i think the rayquaza vmax would be a more expensive psa 10 down the road.

Sealed boxes get opened so they become scarcer whereas singles become more abundant as packs get opened. Not that sealed is risk free but modern sealed beats modern singles.

Population means nothing in modern cards. This card is extremely sought after by millions of collectors. This card will only rise in value. $500-$600 is alot of money for most people, but the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow will make it all worth it.

@@alexpostyoutube 10000+ PSA 10's is a huge pop report. Relatively speaking it's a fairly common card. Now it may hold at the same value or go up but is it going to beat the S&P 500 or other investments? It's a card that's got a lot of hype behind it right now. If demand drops at all is it going to be able to hold at the same price? With that many out there it wouldn't take much of a shift to flood the market. It's a lovely card and will probably always be expensive but it would be extremely unusual for such a common card to keep going up. If you think it can beat 8-10% a year then go for it. I occasionally make high risk investments to. Nothing wrong with it I'm just explaining my thought process. It all comes down to interest. If you love the card then great but I promise you there are easier ways to make money.
