I'm in NB too and I had to sneak in a mow rhis afternoon. The grass had mostly dried out but the recovering bare areas were still muddy. With conditions like this, I dont pull the mower backwards to prevent a foot from slipping and possibly going under my rotary mower.

I'm in north Fort Worth and the rain has been PERFECT for us. Nothing insane, but plenty to keep the sprinklers off and enough dry time between rain for some mows. 6.375" in March, 6.625" in April, and already have 4" for May.

Just moved to North Ft Worth. Near 35 & 170. The rain has been great, it’s also currently raining haha. First time homeowner so if you have any tips for lawn care for this area, let me know!

@@Chadparten Bermuda grass is very easy to maintain for the average homeowner. Just make sure to put down 1" - 1.5" of water a week through sprinklers or rain, mow at least once a week, twice a week would be better, and fertilize every 6-8 weeks. It's that easy.

Brazos County - We got 1.28 last night with lots of lightning. That brings us to 3.78 for the month so far and an amazing 27.52 for the year! What a change from last summer's drought. My Zorro Zoysia is loving it and the Poa has almost all died out. I only have to wait a day before mowing because the yard drains very well. The ground is still wet so it's time to dig up the Dallis Grass out on the roadway.

Had to mow after a shower today because my yard was starting to look like a “jungle.” I’m just north of you and you are correct, the stripes look great. Had to go over everything twice though. Probably because of the grass being damp.

Actually snuck in a mow yesterday between rains. First one was .2” and the second was 1.5”. I knew if I didn’t get it done the big rain would have me out of the yard for a few days.

Been mowing in the morning because I have a newborn and mowing after work isn’t an option right now. The grass isn’t wet but has light dew on it. I will say the stripe action seems legit

I was in a a hurry cutting my grass last week here in central texas. There was light rain so my mowing pace was on a double time. I didn’t trim the edge. What suck was cleaning the grass clippings and because they stick to the ground when using the blower.
@chriswebbtech9 ай бұрын
Sucked it up today and got out to mow. And mowed yesterday with shorter grass right before the overnight rain came just to try to stick to 1/3rd rule. It was a mess but got it done.
@frankneidhardt9 ай бұрын
Do have that experience myself, using a GM1000 myself - stripes do get better. I also have the learning of NOT cleaning the mower after a wet mow - that will come back and hit you when the wet clippings dry onto the reel and behind the reel 🙂

Whats up Rhett, about 10" the last couple weeks here in north Dallas, running my 419 at 1/2" w a Toro 1000 - 7500sf. Couple issues, Poa getting worse and worse, even after using Lesco pre around middle of Sept, been picking it out endlessly, not sure what I'm doing wrong, sprayed Image on it but more keeps coming up. Clover getting bad in spots, hesitant to spray as always seems to turn spots yellow bad, use a combination of Image and WeedBGone, thanks man, luv ur lawn, u need an acre to show it better!

Even though Image says it’ll kill poa, it’s garbage. Try Negate 37WG.

For me if I cut my grass when it's wet, the dirt (mud bc we got so much continuous rain here in TX) moves around too much and my riding lawn mower tires will indent into the soft wet dirt too much and leave tracks and indents everywhere. I have to at least wait until it dries out for 2 days.

I'm north of Dallas and it's been crazy. Too much rain. Would rather the rain be spread out. If summer is going to be like the last 2 years, it would be better to spread all these out. When it rains too much...that's just wasted water.
