I painted my tub about a year ago as well and have had zero problems with it. I also just painted a friends shower tile surround and she was AMAZED at how it came out. She had brown tile and hated it and she had no idea it could be painted.

I never knew you could paint a tub until I watched your video on it last year... and then of course that's all YT thought I wanted to watch. I really want to rip our current moulded tub/show thing out and put in a walk in shower and tile it... but we only have on bathroom.... so maybe I just paint the tub.... it's beige... nobody likes beige, so I don't think I'll get comments. :D

We are renovating an 1940’s house that has the same tub. This was very helpful. I’m happy to keep the cast iron. Why replace it with something “less than”? I always get tickled hearing what people get “up in arms” about. Thank you for the original video and the update.

thank you for the update still looks great . i did a small shower 5 years ago and still looks good .. nothing wrong with saving $ woth painting instead of Remodeling

I chose to paint my tub also. I have the exact tub you have (only mine was white...'ish, and didn't want to replace it. I watched several videos on painting tubs, and did a more research than I probably needed to, before deciding I wanted it professionally resurfaced. I don't regret it, as the tub is "brand new" again. It cost me $650. USD to have it done, which was quite a bit cheaper than buying a tub of anywhere near the same quality as mine, and having to get rid of the old tub. I am happy for you, because your painting job worked out for you. I read and/or watched too many horror stories, where folks did not meet with satisfactory results, and decided to let the professional take the responsibility for it all. I'm a new sub. I enjoy your content. You have a clear, concise, and entertaining presentation. Cheers!

@@nope53926 We just passed the year mark, since it was done, and it looks like he did it yesterday. I am very, very happy with the results. $1800? Zoinks! I think I would have tried it myself, if he'd quoted me that price.

Thanks for the follow up video. Appreciate your good advice throughout. We just pulled a blue tub out of our son’s house. Talk about heavy. The entire bathroom needs to be reconfigured or we would have opted for paint. Thanks again.

I've got one of those blue tubs in my 2nd bathroom and hate it. Just bought the house and now I have an idea how to deal with it. Wish it would work on the same colored toilet too.

If it's a tub similar in size to mine. One kit will be more than enough. I had quite a bit left over when I was done

I watched a YT video where a guy epoxied a tub from the company that sells the counter top epoxy DIY but now they sell for tub makeover What is your opinion over painting?

I've never epoxied a tub before so I can't say a lot about it. All I can say is that I know the Bathworks kit works really well

I'm wondering if this product works on hard plastic like bathtubs and sinks? I've read a lot of the reviews and none of them state what type of tub they had. I'd like to update my bathrooms without having to tare it all out. Thank you,

Is this different than glazing? Usually I see it done with pours from the top into the center until everything is coated. Kit is like about what you paid for the paint kit. We have pretty gnarly scratches at the bottom of the tub, so trying to smooth it out again.

Bathworks has a chip/scratch repair kit that I have linked in the description that you can use to fill in deep scratches then you can paint over the whole thing

The sandpaper is included with the kit, but I believe it was 400 grit
