Very good explaining and telling stories was fun. Im in love with OSRS since some months and addicted again after 13 years
@lokithehero23095 ай бұрын
OSRS is exactly what it says it is: Old School. It's all about the grind. Newer and/or more modern based MMOs focus on giving players more power quickly since that's what everyone likes, making their characters stronger. And there's nothing wrong with that. But in doing so, you don't feel as attached to your character since you got powered up so fast. With OSRS, you feel a little bit more pride behind achieving your goals. Few things feel more satisfying than getting a drop or level you've been grinding weeks, or even months for. It's definitely not a game for everybody, but if you love the grind then you'll probably enjoy OSRS. And remember, it's not about the end- It's about the journey.

A hundred percent, I just got my first fire cape and there is nothing like overcoming a challenge. Learning the mechanics of the game, figuring out how people are doing things, seeing something that seems impossible and breaking it down to a level where it’s achievable. It’s something a lot of modern MMOs have taken out of the game, and I like those MMOs fine. I also like this one though.

Rs3’s biggest problem is p2w… which can be bypassed by playing an Ironman :) some of the most fun I’ve had in RuneScape was rs3 Ironman with late game pvm which is pretty complex and so rewarding as an iron when you spend hour after hour wasting your hard earned resources to get 1 kill of a very hard boss that you’ve never killed before… and very high skill gap where you can go from 1 kill with full inv of food/pots to killing the boss 20 times in 1 hour with no food used altogether :)

yet tell me... who are you going to win? rs3 is not competitive game...so who is the one you going to win? xD and you need to realise Jagex is company which main purpose is to make money... it wouldnt keep game running if it did not make money and atm that P2W you mentioned is only thing keeping either rs3 and osrs floating...

Only Osrs players could be stupid enough to have strong opinions on a game they haven’t played. “Oh but I played it in 2013” Okay, is Osrs the same as it was on release? No. Would it be fair to say “the only boss to kill on Osrs is KBD?” Play the game before you make baseless statements without any understanding of how the game actually plays. I’ve maxed my Osrs account and tried out rs3 and preferred the gameplay so much more than os. I’ve since maxed my rs3 Ironman and I’m having way more fun then on os

The thing is if you want an MMO that has any integrity you have to choose ironman mode in OSRS. Otherwise you can buy bonds in both games with real money and I see noobs all the time running around with bis gear which is sad as it devalues the prestige of the the item. I've legit seen a titty streamer have a tbow that just some viewer gave her and she had to look up where ice warriors are for her level 50 something slayer task. Ironman mode is not perfect though. The drop tables on everything are arbitrarily set with player trading in mind and there are not any anti-dry safeguards in place from going extremely dry for items, items that, again, are set in place with player trading in mind. I recently completed the Hydra claw grind and sweet jesus that was a long grind. I didn't get the Hydra Claw until 3028kc. over 3 times the droprate. Did nothing but Hydra from level 95 and I ended 80k slayer xp shy of 99 Slayer. I was planning for weeks to cancel my membership if I hit 99 Slayer before getting the claw. Anyone who works 35+ hours a week doesn't stand a chance of ever catching up and completing bis gear grinds. Especially at the pace they are adding in new content.
@Lessthanpropane5 ай бұрын
this, this is why I can't do it anymore. I played a standard account and pet hunting made me so sad
@KEKW-lc4xi5 ай бұрын
@@Lessthanpropane Pet hunting is one of the main achievements for regular accounts. However, if you're pet hunting, you might as well play an ironman account since you often get the pet after collecting all the unique items. Repeating the same boss thousands or tens of thousands of times is tedious and frustrating. For example, I got my berserker ring after 526 kills, which is about five times the drop rate. Doing the same for the Rex pet would mean around 25,000 kills, which is unbearable. I'd rather play other games or even go outside than farm for pets, especially considering those who reach near 200M skilling XP before getting their pet. Failing to implement safeguards against extremely unfavorable RNG outcomes is a significant oversight in game design. Players should have a sense of influence over their progress and results. Without these measures, even diligent effort may go unrewarded, as players can experience excessively long dry spells far beyond their initial expectations, making it feel virtually impossible to obtain the desired item or pet. No more RNG grinds for me after that Hydra grind. I'm just going to max, and if they don't rework how drop tables function in this game, I'll max and ride off into the sunset, and probably do something crazy like go outside, maybe find a girlfriend, and start a family, who knows. All I know is grinding the same boss every day all day long for 2+ months aint it. Hydra grind was worse than my dwh grind. Granted I got lucky and got the dwh around rate 6882 kc.

There's so much unwarranted snobby remarks about rs3 from someone who's not played much of the game at all to be making. @@rubeuscubeus no hate, brother. Short answer is no. It's too much of a grind fest. Most MMOs give you the starting experience with a beeline to endgame content. I started RS in 2004 at the library computer. The world isn't as vast as it should be and locations tend to blend together. Combat is my favorite as you can focus any combat style. You have a large world but all feels linear. It would be great if you can play different races. Having to spend thousands of hours to access late game content is the main issue.
