This game is inspired in part by Final Fantasy vXIII, the FF game that was turned into FFXV. I’ll be getting it for that reason alone. Hopefully it’s good

I can totally see the Versus inspiration in this one and I like that they're doing a collab with TWEWY which I didn't touch on in the video. Which adds to the reasons why I'm still thinking about it instead of outright skip. As you said, hopefully it does well and is good 😊

Very valid and spot on points covered in your video regarding Reynatis, strikingly similar to my current thoughts and views actually 🤔 My only other major complaint I have is the size and color of the subtitles were often unreadable for me in the demo 😩 and for a game that has such an interesting story and lots of dialogue that’s not acceptable. I really wish game developers and company’s would give you the option to change the subtitle colors or size. Because a lot of times the small white subtitles are just flat not readable. Gameplay mechanics and an engaging combat system is definitely very important in a game. However for me personally having Likable fun interesting characters, solid story/world building and good Music are the main aspects I look for in my games. Reynatis has excellent music, the story while it seems interesting 🤔 has room to be both bad and good, to early to tell on the world building side. However my biggest disappointment was the characters I just could not really connect with ether of the 2 main characters as even in the demo they seemed bland boring uninspired and lazy🤔 might just possibly be me? It’s difficult for this pirate to play games without any likable characters. The only exception was the summoner girl you were introduced to right before the demo ended🥰 she definitely intrigued me a lot and I found myself wishing the demo lasted a bit longer …. Not sure this game will be a day one pick up or not, however I will probably get it because I’m definitely interested to see ware it goes Subscribed ❤ Oh and yes theirs a demo for the switch
@ShinoSevenАй бұрын
Hey!! Thanks for watching (and subbing) 😊 I have to admit I didn't notice the subtitle thing but watching the video again I could see it being an issue for some for sure. You are correct in that more games should definitely offer more options in that department (color/size etc). Regarding the story and the characters its what I was trying to articulate when I said its like starting an anime 2 episodes in, it does feel like we're missing some important information to relate to the characters more (which is weird because the demo starts you off at Chapter 1). I'm with you that the only character I was interested in really was the girl we get to see very late into the demo 😅 Overall it definitely has some good bits (the world building is intriguing at least, the music is great, I liked the combat) but the overall presentation, the character designs, the animations etc just feels very... meh. I hope reviews come out and say "no no its amazing!", I'd love to be pleasantly surprised by the reception, hopefully it is!
@QueenofthesevenseasАй бұрын
@@ShinoSeven Exactly thanks for the response . Their were a lot of good bits in the demo and just as many questionable ones as well. Your analysis around its like starting and anime 2 episodes in is exactly the feeling I was getting, thank you for saying that. to much missing information ether related to the characters or the story itself and the world the characters are in ( and while I watched a few anime that pulled that only to explain things in latter episodes) within the context of a game and a demo especially, it did not score any brownie points for me. That summoner girl that we barely had any time with was definitely the better part of the game for me, it’s nice knowing I’m not the only person who had trouble finding the the other characters interesting or even intriguing. The combat was definitely interesting and I enjoyed it once i figured it out😓 the world building as you said is intriguing and I agree, the music at least the music in the demo was really good I hope it continues through the full game. As to the rest you summed my feelings up nicely, I’m happy to be surprised when the full game is out though. However as things currently stand I’m uncertain honestly 🤔🤔 only time will tell ( however if the characters were reversed and that mysterious girl we barely had any time with in the demo was one of the main characters 🥰 I would probably be more interested in the game then I am)

I played a bit of the demo on Steam Deck, if you said this was a Kickstarter game at $50 ( Canadian dollars ) I would be impressed. But when you hit that full price and release date you have to start factoring in what else you can get for your dollar at that time. I would pick Metaphor, Dragon Quest, Zelda, Visions of Mana or the cheaper Saga 2 remake over this. The game is better then I expected, it just has a timing and price factor. the quality is ok but not great compared to other $80 options.
@ShinoSevenАй бұрын
Couldn't agree more, its a very fair feeling to have, as you said, at full price its hard to justify when compared to all these other games releasing at the same price. It is much better than I was expecting it to be considering the studio's track record but it still is asking a lot for what it is.
@kennethhernandez9243Ай бұрын
@@encrypt2344 to be fair, the 60 dollar version is a “deluxe edition” with a sound track and art book. But this definitely feels like a 40 dollar budget game, there’s no dancing around that fact. Especially with specifically metaphor coming out, it’s a hard sell. I’m just sold on the budget kingdom hearts/the world ends with you vibes.

yeah i pre ordered saga 2 remake on switch. reynatis was a slideshow on switch (about a constent 20fps) but i think saga is gonna be fine. no way i pay 80 cad for a game like reynatis. also the reynatis demo on pc is bugged. the framerate hard caps to 60fps in fullscreen but if you chose borderless and disable ANY setting then put it back up, the framerate is unlocked. very weird

@@bench2346 I’m at the end of it now. Fun game. Really basic, old school design but the characters are endearing, art style is fantastic, combat starts slow but really opens up. I recently completed Crystar on the switch. The problem with FuRyu published and at times developed games is the fact that the games are extremely budgeted titles with below to average gameplay all the while having fantastic illustrated artwork, solid story and stellar soundtrack. With the case of Crystar, the story is PHENOMENAL, one of the few redeeming qualities of the game besides the 2D illustrations & the soundtrack which are both redeeming qualities. I want to pick up CryMachina at some point even though I heard some mixed reception when it comes to the story of the game compared to the positive reception of Crystar….aside from that, the gameplay for crymachina is at least somewhat of an improvement over Crystar but that’s not saying much when it comes to FuRyu published action RPG titles. Anyways, the demo for Reynatis….bit of a mixed opinion. The combat from the demo seems like there’s not much depth to it, I’m having trouble perfect dodging to recover the SP bar to go in wizard form, more than likely it’s due to playing the game on switch….which is 30FPS with dips. (I’ll add on to this that I’ve played most of FuRyu titles on the switch which games like Caligula effect overdoes & 2 have some iffy performance at times.)
@ShinoSevenАй бұрын
Oh very well put about FuRyu's titles. As far as Crystar/Crymachina goes I heard very similar things regarding the story of Crystar and the mixed recption of Crymachina. For Reynatis, it seems like the Playstation version was the most playable. Apparently the PC port is lacking a ton of graphical options and has bugs galore and the Switch version dips in framerate to the point of being a slideshow so I'm glad I played on the PS5 otherwise this video might have been VERY different haha. Thanks for your detailed breakdown, really interesting insights.
@maroXUprisingАй бұрын
@@ShinoSeven Yeah it’s unfortunate. By no means do I hate budgeted titles from passionate developers and studios, I see a lot of hidden potential with the games FuRyu publishes and develops….but the gameplay is the weakest part of their titles. But I don’t see FuRyu ever having a breakout success with any of their current output of budgeted titles. I suppose it’s a miracle that Caligula effect was able to get a sequel. I will add onto this statement that I genuinely liked the gameplay of Caligula effects overdose & 2. The “timeline” mechanic felt so satisfying to successfully get a couple of combo’s towards your foes (when you play the game on the hardest difficulty that is.) On another note…I find it funny that when reynatis trailer was revealed….some compared that the combat looked similar to “scarlet Nexus” & “Astral Chain.” That comparison almost feels like a sin lol. Scarlet Nexus & Astral Chain clearly have more competence with its gameplay and aren’t extremely budgeted titles either lol. A shame….I think the only Action RPG I’m interested in when it comes to AA Japanese releases now if I’m being honest here, is Level 5’s “Decapolice” I really hope that game releases next year….It’s still slated to release in 2024 but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be delayed. But yeah that’s another topic entirely lol. Currently having a blast playing “Megaton Musashi W:wired.” It’s almost a travesty that this game never got a big promotion when it released this year, the game is genuinely fun imo….Level 5 are the unsung talents of making fantastic games that nobody ever plays…lol I’m rambling on again XD But yeah, I’m gonna wait for Reynatis to go on sale at this point. There’s potential but of course in FuRyu fashion I don’t see the final product being amazing in terms of gameplay.

I agree with gameplay of Furyu games. I like games like caligula effect in terms of its story, ost and characters, but the gameplay is probably its weakest aspect.
@TaqSotoАй бұрын
@@maroXUprisingI loved the gameplay in both Caligula Effect games. I think those are the best all around games furyu has made. CE2 did a lot of the same stuff narratively as CE1 did, but I think the characters themselves were even better than CE1.
@maroXUprisingАй бұрын
@@MikoYotsuya292 understandable. I mentioned before that I’m probably the few the legitimately like the battle system of the Caligula effect games. The timeline system feels quite satisfying to get combos, of course you do need to play the game in the hardest difficulty to even remotely get enough out of the combat system but otherwise that’s about it. The soundtrack ultimately is the strongest highlight to willingly play through the Caligula games.

That is definitely something I had to get used to, itr didn't click with me until I was fighting the boss, but once it clicked it was really fun. There was still this awkward bit sometimes when ytou'd be waiting for the enemy to attack to dodge, but overall it wasn't as bad as I thought at first. Though I played on PS5, I heard that on the Switch, the dodging was much much harder to do because of the lower frame rate.

You should never preorder unless it's an indie game that could use the steam algorithm support. Just see the reviews pre release and buy it day 1 if it's good.
@ShinoSevenАй бұрын
I hear you, its just that when collecting physical games (like I do) not preordering, especially JRPGs often means missing out on getting a physical copy entirely or being willing to pay significantly more than retail price down the line. But totally wouldn't preorder a digital game otherwise. I personally tend to preorder all new JRPGs releasing, and a few days before release I see the reviews/previews and decide if I cancel the preorder or keep it. I usually preorder from places that don't ask for the money upfront too, that way no harm no foul 😅 Very rarely I will preorder games by paying upfront and these are from games that I 100% know will beworth the money in some way or as you said, indies that need the revenue.
