I’ve read all but the newest volume and I love this series, it’s just merges everything together to make its own and I love most of the miniseries and art styles that used throughout. The series has ups and downs but as it’s length that’s expected, but every time I crack a volume open I burn through it. Nice to see you highlighting this one

Great video. I own the 13 volumes and decided as you to not continue with Vol 14, however I did bought the Last Ronin hard cover and will be getting the prequel and I heard from the "Comics are Dope" youtube channle that the Last Ronin will have a sequel next year, so I guess I will not be saying good bye to the Turtles, just switched to a new saga hahaha

I read a few volumes of the HC and love it so far. I really like how in depth the origins are and how they build on the character development + the art is awesome

Great review as always Chris. Loved this IDW collection. I decided to stop at book 13 with it being the end of the run. Got my Usagi Yojimbo directly below as well! The things you see… 😂✌️

Thanks for the overview! Almost sounds like one could read up to 4 or 6 and drop off 😅 I've heard many good things about it, but always been hesitant, partially because those editions (new) manage to hold onto what seems to be a slightly higher price than usual for "Deluxe" hardcovers... Actually 🤔🤔🤔 I have a feeling I bought a couple of used copies of the first 2 volumes and they're (stop me if this sounds familiar) #BuriedInMyShelves somewhere 😂🙈😅 I'll go search for them while I eagerly await your next video... 👋

Post issue 100/vol 13 is kind of wonky. I wouldn't say Sophie is straight up bad at writing the comic, but there was a noticeable dip in quality during the Mutant Town arcs that caused a lot of fans to drop the comic. It kind of becomes a boring slice of life soap opera for a bit there, 106-112 really had this problem. Once the Mutant Town arcs end though, around issue 125, it does pick back up and is really good throughout the entirety of the Armageddon Game event which has a lot of awesome callbacks to previous arcs in the comic and finally wraps up everything with the Rat King and the Pantheon. Post Armageddon game isn't too bad so far, and it seems that Sophie is wrapping up her writing role with the comic at issue 150 which will probably another decent cutoff point if Mutant Town didn't cause you to drop the comic.

@@shamusomalley4263 With Eastman and Waltz helping her the comic did get back to being pretty good for Armageddon Game. The post Armageddon game issues haven't been that bad either even though they aren't helping her for the rest of her run. No mistaking it though the Mutant Town arcs were definitely the lowest point in the comic and that's due to her writing and because they probably told her not to move the plot along much while they were working on the Last Ronin.

Thanks for talking way too long about Turtles. This series is one of my blind spots. Most readers seem to like it a lot but I’ve never even looked inside! I’ve seen these books in stores but it never occured to me to take a quick look inside…Turtles comics/movies/TV etc. have always been out of sync with my life. When they happened something else happened in my life that required more attention. So absolutely zero interest so far. Now seeing the amount of great and diverse art within this series makes me think if I should take the bait🧐I also appreciate it if writers can keep the universe/continuity intact and logical in a long running series. It’s one of the key factors why I’ve been loyal to Hellboy-universe stories. And it was nice to hear that even you buy some series one by one😅

"Reading few volumes" Sounds like a trap...But this is exactly why this fussing is important. I get to hear about life in strange bubbles outside my own bubble. Turtles got me thinking that Transformers and Avatar The Last Airbender comics have always been in the same blind spot for me. I have absolutely no idea about the quality or the type of content those books have. It´s funny how some things just completely circumnavigate you - or you them.@@OffMyShelves
