The C in TCRI stands for "cosmic", and is a hint to the company being run by aliens. Since the movie did away with the alien subplot, they changed Cosmic to "Global", hence TGRI.
@PowderAkaCaseyJones
@PowderAkaCaseyJones 4 жыл бұрын
They changed it because TCRI was copywritten, nothing to do with the plot.

That's a really interesting fun fact, what's funny is how originally the ending of secret of the ooze would show the scientist is actually an utron, so I wonder if they had changed it since they already went with making it global instead

The micro series dedicates one issue to each turtle and in Raphael's issue they show how he met Casey jones (Which is basically the same as in the movie) and that's why he comes to their rescue in the antique store.

But I thought it was a “one issue micro series”.
@SpideyRules-pq6be
@SpideyRules-pq6be 4 жыл бұрын
@@elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770 That's because each Turtle got his own "series." Raphael #1, Michaelangelo #1, Donatello #1, and Leonardo #1. All of these were one issue and they all took place in between issues of the main series. I don't know why James' books have Leonardo #1 but not the others, especially since they introduce each of the turtles' individual personalities. If you were wondering when they take place chronologically here you go: Raphael #1 takes place in between issues 3 and 4 of the main series; Michaelangelo #1 takes place in between issues 7 and 8; Donatello #1 takes place in between issues 8 and 9; James already said in the video that Leonardo #1 takes place before issue 10. Interestingly, the Fugitoid has his own "one issue micro series" that shows his backstory from his perspective rather than as exposition; it takes place in between issues 4 and 5 of the main series.

It’s a bit pricey, but I remember IDW put out “The Ultimate Collection” of the original Mirage Studio Turtles, and the stories are printed in chronological order, with written commentaries by the creators on each issue.

For those worried about the story abruptly stopping, don’t worry. While its not included in the compilation, there is a “return to New York” story arc where the turtles beat Shredder once and for all. Its a shame it was included in the compilations because it does wrap up the story in a satisfying way.

That would be awesome. Either live action or animated. I'd even settle for live action humans with CGI non human characters. Have it be geared toward adults with swearing & plenty of violence. I would honestly be fine if things like April being a news reporter by profession (also having an interest in science & antiques with the 2nd Time Around shop) & the turtles love of pizza. As for all red bandannas or signature colors... I honestly like the signature colors more. Hell, it would be awesome if they pulled a Star Wars: Clone Wars where the movie is the pilot & then we get a TV series which follows the same continuity.

You wanna know something really wild, apparently the idea for Shredder being resurrected via worms was inspired by an article that Peter Laird had read about Worm Colonies. Apparently some species of worms form colonies and collectively have a sort of hive mind. I looked it up myself and indeed there are worms that do that.

I read the comics and rarely watched the cartoon. The Mirage comics are the one true turtles for me. The 2003 cartoon was pretty good, it took a lot of inspiration from the Mirage comics. The IDW comic series is also excellent. They do eventually explain how Shredder came back. Casey met Raphael in his Micro-Series. Just track down the IDW reprints of the Mirage comics, it presents everything chronologically.

Nice review. I've been wanting to get the graphic novels for awhile, and planning on doing so in the near future.

Casey was introduced in an earlier Raphael one shot issue, though I’m sure there are other comments on here mentioning this. These books must omit that issue for some reason.
