Should You Run RESISTANCES??? Field Test Dead Bride

So I tested the dmg and resist of the colossi dead bride on HM. Hopefully this will help some people out to understand how to build for Intercept battles.

As an Ajax main, the best defense for attacks is to get out of the way. The dome can't hurt you if you're not in it. The rings can't hurt you if you jump over them etc.

I find in the late endgame no resistance will matter as 30k hp and 50k def will still get you one shot but the newest boss.. the only defence you have is to not get hit. It’s like dark souls but less reliable

I always prioritized external components with an elemental resistance, and Shield or DEF before, now "HP Support".

It's easy to stack defense up to 40k and elemental resistance above 5k. Use both. Defense is very important against massive dmg. Outside Colossi fights, 20k is more than enough. Against Colossi with very strong special attacks, it's better to go higher, around 40k. It will prevent you from dying fast. For elemental resistance, combine two mods and a secondary stat from your external components. You'll easily go over 5 to 7k even if you haven't invested much on mod upgrades. Have at least two builds. One for farming and one for bossing. For bossing, you want to be tankier.

I just want to say I play freyna. And I have no elemental resistances besides the base Only twenty five thousand defense, 12k hp And I can solo every hard boss That can be soloed The hangman frost walker obstructor Are excluded I haven't gone up against glutney yet. I wanna finish my build first. But I can stay alive in those fights and do a lot of damage I can play my role without a problem. With this build, I even run, walk a tightrope. It's not hard to stay alive.Just move around, be ready to do a barrel roll You don't need to judge everything because nothing's gonna one. Shot you, but it might have you Jumping and screaming while you aim your grapple hook at the nearest health Cube on the ground 😂

If i have to use a resistance mod, i go for the immunity mods. I will never let myself be frozen, burnt, or poisoned. Intoxication is the only dot i want 😂😂

In general build terms: Run resistance on your external components, hit 40k defense, stack HP. Obviously, if you're specializing in a certain type of build (shield, glass canon, heal/support), these numbers go out the window.

You dont need 21k elemental. One mod is all thats needed if combined with an external giving resistance which will give around 10k. Stack up some health and armor. Some builds will actually benefit from armor and shields believe it or not.

A few videos ago you stated not to go over 25k DEF, here you mention 40k DEF is the sweetspot. Is 40k the new confirmed best value? Also, if you're still low level and not even close to 40k DEF, should I go 100% into DEF that point or stack some hp as well before that?

Everyone says 40k is the sweetspot. I never even bother with defence in general. I would say 20k is a good one across the board. But then again everyone has a different opinion about it. Just go with 20k and adjust if needed

Lepic 14.5K HP 33K DEF 5K chill resist Maxed increased HP module & time distribution module. Maxed increased Def & 6/10 Spear and shield 7/10 chill antibody Rest is from external components. Routinely beat hard dead bride with ease...

Yes. Seems to be split into 2 non attribute attacks, one mixed and 3 attribute. At least the dead bride is.

I've heard (but not tested) that 6k-10k defence, and 3k-6k resistance with 20k (ish) health is the ideal sweet spot for defensive stats. But I have not put that trough the ringer yet. This would mean 1 Component substat on the resistance for the Boss, 1 Component main stat and substat on Defence, all other Component Main stats on Health and one (or two) Health Increase Descendant Mods, if my calculations are correct

Not really, you want some def (and resist). It seems 20k def with resist from external components is good for viessa, like i can tank a good chunk of executioner attack in hard mode with 13k hp

Ive heard you only need around 20-25k defense because its better to stack HP because of diminishing returns on Defense. Whats your opinion on that?

So the sweet spot is around 40k. However i rarely go above 25k ( most of the time i build glass canons though). But I'd say always test different options and see what works best for your build.

@@hitman9198 25/30k defense is a good spot imo. Leaves most of your mod and external slots for hp/dps. I run the double dip defense in slot 3, hp on all others. Got a 3700+ res for each slot to swap in as needed, plus the 2 main +hp% mods, one +def% mod, and pure dps otherwise. If you need the extra res, one slot can be swapped out for the specific element res.

Hey me and my friends have been wondering something do character elements reduce damage? So if I'm playing viessa since she's ice does she have natural resistance to ice would she take less damage from dead bride or if playing Blair would he take less damage from pyromaniac? Wondering since bosses and enemies in general have natural resistance to their own element if we do to.

When your looking at your main inventory screen and hit W to look at all your stats on everything, what you see is what you get. Viessa doesn't get natural resistance to ice, if I recall correctly I think it's base across the board only like 11 resistance unmodded and no components for every element or something low like that.

The choice of builds was not ideal. The test should have been with no defense, 25k def & recommended amount of resistance, and finaly maximum amount of DEF and resistance you can fit. Also, the only relevant question you should ask yourself is what attack is most likely to kill you. Based on the answer and type of the attack, you pick your defense set up. My personal experience with hard mode Dead Bride is following: A) going in with just external component resistance, 3.6k +/-, Dome attack would still be very deadly even on Bunny that can get out of it much faster than anyone else; B) when using setup with 8.1k chill resistance, Dome attack still hurts but I can even ressurect someone if Im at full HP. There is absolutely no reason to not have at least base elemental resistances given by external components. If you want to be responsible, you slap on one mod increasing your resistance to recommended level.
