Thanks for the information, it was super helpful. I have my cdl and have been driving for over four years with little to show for it. The first time I tried to get the balk rolling, the upfront cost prevented me from stating. Hopefully I can change that this year

Mudflap for the win. Are you factoring in depreciation, in your cost per mile? That hotshot will burn out far before that semi. Just remember that!
@559Lucchese
@559Lucchese Жыл бұрын
Those trucks can do 500k miles on the same motor. Semis can easily do another 500k miles but with tons of money thrown in. Most companies want to sell their semis between 500-600k miles

@@559LuccheseYou’re talking about the engine of these hotshots forget that what about the transmissions. They don’t last nearly as long as the engine’s right around that 100K mark you will start to see problems. Wonder why every used dually is right around that margin in mileage because they have used and abused them until the transmission starts fall apart and then they sell it to a dealership for a new truck.
@559Lucchese

@@redhunnid5142 a new transmission is cheaper than a semis. You’re speaking on topics with no background and it shows. You clearly don’t know about the Aisin transmission can last 300-400k. Maintenance is cheaper and easier to maintain. And when its time to upgrade you would be getting rid the truck all together. Unless you swap the motor and trans which is STILL CHEAPER.

@@redhunnid5142 the ones you see for sale obviously weren’t used for work or were lemon cars bud. Its no difference from seeing a brand new cascadia selling for 120k because the automatic trans fails

Good video. We have the RTS Fuel card, not very good. No offense. We get much more out the TSD Open Roads EFS card. Average discount is that or better than RTS and wayyyy more fuel stations in the network vs RTS.

We currently have a 2020 F-450 and a 40' Gooseneck. Love Ford, but the F-450 has been in a shop quite a lot. Been looking at a Freightliner M2 Sportchassis. The bank that we finance the F-450 through wants me to jump through hoops to get a loan (despite having great credit). Who did you finance your trucks through, and what docs did they require from you to get the loan?
@All-Miles-Matter
@All-Miles-Matter Жыл бұрын
A sport chassis is an actual commercial vehicle that requires commercial lending. Wayyyyy different than personal lending. It requires you to jump through hoops.....absolutely. this is why the industry is in shambles right now. Any joe shmo can buy a pickup truck and trailer, flooding the market with people. Commercial lending separates the men from the boys.

You don't need credit. Get a good truck for 20k, a good used trailer for 10k, focus on insurance, equipment.
@jlovetheflash5371
@jlovetheflash5371 Жыл бұрын
Can that work, of course, but we are both lying to our selves if we think a $20k diesel dually is going to survive long hauling for 10,000 miles a month. Your insurance and risk is going to be to high to rely on a truck of that caliber. Can you do it, yes you can, would I advise it, no.

Profit is 20 cents a mile is what you expect? So drive a 1000 miles to make 200 bucks. WTF?
@jlovetheflash5371
@jlovetheflash5371 Жыл бұрын
$.20 a mile profit would be after paying a drivers salary whether that is yourself, or somebody, so if you did 10,000 miles one month, and you pay your driver (you) $.60 a mile, so $6k, your company’s profit after all expenses would be roughly $2,000
