Hi Warren, thank you for a good comprehensive video. Maybe one more point that I would add when considering if a DSLR should be purchased (especially 2nd hand) is the risk vs reward of mechanical failure, be that the shutter system, or buttons etc. Many of the used DSLR’s are a great deal and comparable to mirrorless quality, but have been well loved 🙂 If buying used, ensure a reasonably low shutter count, good condition and a warranty!

Why not? Still take great pics, good lens selection and probably cheaper, can get pro specs and build quality for less money, for photographers is viable, for videography maybe not so much these days.

Exactly, and I would lean more towards the Sony or Canon line ups for any videography or cinematography projects as, they managed to have excellent autofocus, tracking systems and of course good performances in low light conditions. Cheers!
