Personally I feel everyone has their own perspective towards time traveling and no opinion is wrong. That being said, considering the number of times I've redesigned different areas and moved buildings/bridges/inclines around my island over the year, doing everything without Time Travel would've been maddening...plus I'm tired of winter already lol

I agree with you, I feel like if you want to time travel you shouldn’t be punished because it’s your game and you should be able to do anything you want (obviously not against Nintendo’s rules obviously) on your island and plus I kinda miss the color of the spring time and Autumn

Started the game in this month and since I'm in the Southern hemisphere, that puts me in winter :O Haven't experienced other seasons to have a preference. I think imma time travel to every season now lol

I "completed" two islands without time travel. I thoroughly enjoyed it. When I restarted a second time (for my third island), I decided to try time traveling. I've had tons of fun with that, too. I feel like the longer you play and the more you do, you can get tired of the game. Restarting my island and then time traveling made it new again and fun in a different way. I recently flattened my island, and it's been new all over again. When I first started the game, it felt like cheating to me. My opinion started to soften once Nintendo officially said it had no intention of removing that possibility from the game. They acknowledged that each player should play the game however it works for them. I was also anti-amiibo in the beginning. But after my island restart, I went over a month after my first campsite villager without getting another one. That's when I tried it, and I love it! I still enjoy villager hunting, but sometimes I just want to move out whomever I want to move out and bring in whomever I want to bring in. And it's a function that's actually built into the game; I'm not sure why I ever objected to it in the first place. Basically, everyone should play however they want. This game has brought so much joy at such a dark time. If it's not working for you anymore, change things up!

@@fronschka Well, that's why I put completed in quotation marks. There's really no done with these islands, until we decide so. I had done everything I wanted to (I didn't finish my museum or anything like that). I got to the point where nothing interested me anymore. I had a project I'd planned, but I just couldn't force myself to do it, because I just didn't care. I'd had five stars for several months. No new recipes. Things like that. I was also playing a ton, so there might have been some burnout involved.

I personally don’t care if you time travel or not, I just don’t do it because I love waking up every day with new nooks cranny and able sister items. And when decorating having the patience of waiting for the next day for it to be finished if you moved a building or had a bridge or an incline build. Or the changing of the seasons, I don’t like the snow but I love slowly seeing the little changes in weather / look of the island. And ofc the villagers, I wake up and talk to all of them and get the diy of that moment. They’re little good mornings / good evenings / you are up late’s make me so happy. Anyways those are the reasons I don’t time travel. Have a good day everyone :)

I'd go crazy if I couldn't time travel. I work night shifts so my awake times are very erratic - I like not having to miss out on stuff after a few nights working in a row. Plus it helps for the rare occasions that Redd shows up, so I can go back and forth to collect rare items and artwork.

I time travel to move buildings, build/destroy bridges and inclines. I started time travelling when I was flattening my island after my friend explained it all to me. I travel a day at a time and always go back to my current date and time before I close my Switch. I sometimes time travel to daytime when I’m decorating because I find that a lot easier and inspirational. I also time travel to the daytime because I’m scared of scorpions and tarantulas and it freaks me out knowing they could appear at any moment. 😅

I have to share the Switch with my sons, so they get it at night and I play during the day. As a result I never played evenings so I'm way behind on Celeste. So I adjust my time several times a week. When I'm designing, I jump as well. I'm in the zone, I'm inspired, having to stop that flow just to wait for a bridge to be destroyed and moved just doesn't work for me.

Sadly upon getting grass you also get weeds everywhere, its bad for your game BUT I good if you want a flip simulator, (yes that's a game so you can buy it and flip houses and renovate homes,still its fun to get all the weeds but it maddens your ratings)

I didn't get my own copy of the game until July, but I time traveled from the very beginning. In order to build my island the way I wanted with minimal online trading, it was the quickest way to get lots of items.

This video answered all of my questions! I've only been playing ACNH for a few months and want to experiment with elaborate terra forming island builds. That's why I want to time travel. I used to not time travel until i decided on flattening my island. It's really annoying that you can only move one building a day / build one bridge or incline a day. I don't see a problem with either way of playing the game. It comes down to the players choice in the end and I really hate that a lot of non-time travellers judge people who do it so harshly.

I used to be very against time traveling because I really enjoyed having something to look forward to doing everyday, but last summer I injured myself and missed out on a lot of event updates. So when I felt up to it, I decided to time travel backwards to do the stuff I missed, and I love it so much. I don't think I'll ever time travel forward, but I think its great to be able to go back to passed events and get duplicate items or enjoy different seasons over again. And it definitely helps so much with moving buildings and terraforming.

That's so funny! That's exactly what I did! I time traveled back to the summer and played for like a week and a half all the way up until my current date...it was actually probably the funnest time I've ever had with Animal Crossing because I could play and have something to do anytime I wanted to pick up the game. I'll probably just stick to my current time now that I've caught up but that experience really showed me how unfair it would be if in the future Nintendo tried to punish people more severely for time traveling. Thank god that doesn't seem to be the stance they take anymore!

@@VentraleStar lol I'm still not caught up to present time. I hate terraforming so I got a bit burnt out when I was designing my island. I feel like I'll never catch up at this rate but whatever lol. I think if there ever were more serious consequences, there would be a riot. I know so many people time travel now, it would be crazy. I understand nintendo wanting people to not rush through the events, but there has to be better ways to deal with that then punishing time travel.

The first time I time traveled, it was to trade a villager with someone... and I forgot I had an entire basement full of turnips. I was due to have a large spike on the next irl day too, and I completely blew it! Man I was sad. Kept me from trying tt again for a couple months, but now I use it fairly often

I personally like time traveling but I only started doing it once i unlocked the terraforming tool. I also dont travel more than a couple days. If i missed an event within a week of it happening, i will travel. However if its been more than that, id rather just wait for the next season

They changed it, you used to be able to skip ahead like 20 years and get 99k bells, but now they limited it so the most bells you can get from your ABD interest is 9k bells, even when you skip ahead as many years as possible

I personally see it as the games intendend way to play: no time travel. AC is a game were you build your town bit by bit, you discover things, bit by bit and you are collecting things, bit by bit. Time travel makes one of the whole discovery things obsolete, you just go there and get it. Thats it. I understand that people wanna decorate their islands quicker, thats their endgame and thats fine. But when people tell me how many billion bells they have or that they finished the museum in one month, i appreciate their effort less because they didnt do it the intended way.

Time traveling is a valid game mechanic that is even utilized by top game developers. If you're having fun playing the game then that's all that matters. I time travel for various reasons such as speeding up building upgrades, moving in amiibos, and even farming fruit for bells.

For island building, decorating, planning etc. Skipping time is honestly a good idea. A lot of people say you shouldn’t do it because of weeds, bugs, flowers everywhere! I personally think you shouldn’t skip too far. I usually just skip a day or too when I need it. Honestly I think you should do what you want. I don’t care it’s your game! Lol, that’s just my opinion.

At first time traveling never crossed my mind. Now though, it's just second nature. Can't not time travel! 😅 I do it for bridges/inclines, and moving buildings. I also do it to farm Redd or Flick for items. Celeste too for diys. My only question is, does it affect the progress you've made with a particular villagers frienship? Like, if I gift them on a Wednesday and go back to the Tuesday before hand and back again, does that erase the headway I may have made? I just don't know! 🤔😫

My chat told me last night during my stream that it doesn't negatively impact your friendship with your villagers. One of my mods tt all the time and has over 75 photos. So I take her word for it!

To control weeds and flowers just carpet your entire island with a pattern/path or set down a lot of items. Weeds and flowers will not grow where stuff or patterns are placed. However this method will not work in your house. You will still get roaches.

My Nintendo Switch Lite was faulty and needed replacing. My island was lost and I had to start from scratch. Rather than go through the long winded process of replaying the start of the game I decided to time travel to speed up and catch up. I don’t see it as cheating and many players have been time travelling since the early days of AC myself including from the Wild World days. It can take some of the fun out of it for sure so I wouldn’t do it all the time, but in my case and in many others it’s an obvious choice to make to keep players playing.

I thought a lot about time travel the past days, simply because I have flattened my entire island and the bridges and incline annoy me so much while I'm re-planning my island layout. I have nothing against people who TT, but personally I wanna see just how long I can go with moving one house/building or demolishing bridges and inclines per day before going crazy. I started time traveling because I got the game for Christmas and I found it hard to decorate in the snow. Then when I realized I could get bells faster that became the reason. Now I’m time traveling for furniture and other items. Once I have my island how I want it I will play in real time

This is great bc I think there’s a lot of new players from the holidays. I believe the house exterior glitch was patched out - I know some people were doing this intentionally, who confirmed they can’t do it anymore but I haven’t tried myself recently.

If I time travel to move out a villager and then move in a new villager and then time travel back to the original date I moved out that old villager, would it keep the new villager or reset to the old one? Thanks for this video. I played City Folk on Wii ages ago, and I kind of assumed the concept was basically the same on New Horizons, but I wasn't sure. Thanks, I learned a few new things! I only time travel to kick villagers out or move them in, but it's really tempting to get to spring here too. I think everyone should play the way they want. Question: Can you farm Celeste through time travel? I didn't even think of it until shooting stars were mentioned.

I personally time travel for I don't have the time to play every day but I don't wanna miss some events, shopping opportunities at Nooks and Crannies or the Able sisters etc. I don't pass several months but for example my game is on January 4th and I attended New Year's countdown 3 days ago 😂. I sometimes cover several ACNH days in a day to keep up.

I only time travel backwards, then to the current date. I feel like if I go to the next day, it’ll spoil the surprise of what’s in the stores. 😅 with that being said, I haven’t tted to Spring and it’s driving me crazy 😭 BUT, I’m waiting for the day I play my game and it’s gone!

Once I time traveled by one day while my villager was in boxes then I time traveled back to the actual date and my villager moved out and the plot was sold to my least favorite villager :(
