I started using a gaming sleeve when i was testing glass mousepads because it made sliding your arm around them feel better. Pretty much necessary for glass pads... but then i went and started using them with my cloth pads. It always bothered me when my cloth mousepads got all dirty and gross from my sweaty arm sliding across is all the time, and wearing an arm sleeve prevents that from happening. So you can friction consistency on your mousepad, and it also stays cleaner much longer which will also help your consistency because of the lack of slow spots on your pad.

Pro tip, if youve got a jogging/running jacket itll work also. Some running jackets are even way smoother than gaming sleeves. Especially the kind of crunchy ones that feels almost like plastic.

The point of compression sleeves aren't meant to improve ability it's more for stamina. As an old man I use one when I'm going to be playing for more than a couple of hours. I got "mouse elbow" and didn't let it heal properly and now I regret it but the sleeve does help

I started to use a sleave when I got my Cooler Master Mp510 a couple of years ago. My arm hair kept getting snagged in the corse fabric but I enjoy the feeling of the sleave.

i just use a sock and works like a charm, though one thing about arm sleeves, maybe just in my case with a sock, helps with a consistent “glide” and helps keeps the mouse pad clean😂. Though once you get used to it, it feels incredibly awkward to game without one afterwards

Probably will get the nike one though, been thinking about that for a long time, never was necessary but the socks do stretch out after a while and I just throw them away.

Funny how ive been using a long thin sock (cut) as sleeve since I was 13. I'm turning 31 next month.. Its just so much better than using a long sleeve tshirt cause its firmer around your arm, lets you slide waaay better, especially when its warmer.

I have an Artisan Hayate Otsu MID, and the sleeves I have (lycra) don't work for me, the glide is too rough. what kind of sleeves could you recommend for this type of pad?

Use a silk arm sleeve, there are a lot but I got a compression silk arm sleeve from amazon and the reason I got a compression over just a regular silk arm sleeve because it reduces fatigue from long term gaming or intense flicks etc and it doesn't wrinkle so it won't get loose over time and snag on your mouse pad like previous arm sleeves I've used, there's also a sleeve called the "precision sleeve" and it's pretty damn good, basically the best of all worlds when it comes to arm sleeves but it's 30-40$ depending on where you live for just one but it's a really good investment, so for budget I'd say get a silk compression, and for the best get the precision arm sleeve off amazon as it's the same as the silk but it feels wayyy more comfortable

Personally, i use the razer strider mouse pad and some days I get really hot and sweaty and my arm pulls the mousepad when i used it but since using an arm sleeve there is no pull just smooth glide as well making my aim more consistent definitely recommend!

Even then sleeves (80-90% nylon) offer much less drag/friction compared to your hairy hand. Also, it keeps your mousepad somewhat clean which can help with longetivity.
