Dont leave without seeing Cesme (Famous with it's beaches) and Alacati (Famous with its old brick/Stone houses and the way it is structured) , they are beautiful small cities located not too far from Izmir. Make sure to have time for it and bring your bathing suits :)

Folks! Welcome to Izmir. Go to place called "Asansör" and have a cold beer with a unique view. It is just few minutes by taxi where you stay I think... Izmir taxis are no robbers as in Istanbul. Feel safe and enjoy :) Welcome again.

It is so nice to see u in the streets where I grow up. Now I am far away from my city. Living in london. Izmir is a beautiful city but you must know where to go. 1. Go to Cesme and Alacati. Take a boat tour to donkey island from Cesme. Try the sakiz dondurma and kumru there. 2 Go to Sirince village and Efes Antic City.

Efes Antic City Well, I have realized that, in our cities, you need a guidance or recommendation every time before you start traveling.. Also, I don't want to seem like a racist but there are Syrian refuges everywhere.. 3 millions, mostly in big cities.. just notice.. :(

You should go Ephesus and Pergamon ancient sites. They are in very different directions in the city, Pergamon is in the northest part and Ephesus is in the southest part but they're both beautiful. I'm so happy that you visit my city, have fun with it :))

Visit Izmir? Move there! Everyone is moving to Izmir these days. Especially from Istanbul. Things have changed since i lived there from 2007-2009. However just purchased a house there so I guess I'm in the same boat lol. Also you guys didn't take the ferry to Karşıyaka. Many Americans are in Izmir...glad you guys enjoyed my 2nd home!

Every decent, smart, moderate, secular, logical human being with conscience welcome to live in Izmir. It is best city in Turkey as well as being one of the best places to live in this planet. But, you guys should visit Foca and Yeni Foca too. Non of the Tourist or foreigners knows the area, very virgin, not crowded, quite, great fish and great sea, very relax. Esipecially in the winter, it feels like whole village blogs to you.

Start the day with boyoz and hard boiled eggs. Stay indoors during scorching heat. Watch the sunset at passport, then the night is long. Being in Kemeralti Bazaar at noon in summer heat is so wrong.

Izmir sucks but has got the best hinterland, cesme-alacati-urla-bodrum-foca-efes-kusadasi-marmaris etc. All are proximate, so by living Izmir every weekend you can visit these places

You dont have to have turkish gsm or credit card to hire bisim (bike) you just need an izmirimkart which is available at mini shops (tekel) and when you buy it you need to fill it with 25 liras (daily price of hire) and use it. It blocks 25 liras at first in case you dont bring the bike back 😁 but when you take the bike back it will refund the price of hours that you didnt use.

Izmır is small because you did not even see Karşıyaka , Çeşme ,Ephesus, Dikili which are the touristic places in İzmir.By the way, You can pass to Greek Islands from Çeşme and Dikili.
