Consider the Puritans: they were anti-fornication and anti-pornography, with fornicators and adulterers and other lewd persons publicly shamed and condemned; yet their families consisted of 7-10 children, with 6 being the minimum. Yet if say you are anti-porn, you are called a Puritan, despite Puritanism being very pro-martial sex, and sex within marriage in general.

Porn shouldn't be the introduction to sex. But what about older minors like 15, 16, 17 years? They most likely are exploring sex, sexuality, and such. Could porn be educational? Not cheap free porn that doesn't explain consent or safety very well.

Im going to be honest, i been watching and learning from porn since i was 10 years old. From that experience i was insecure and hated myself. It also ruined my life in many ways then one. Super low confidence, so much social anxiety and low drive. Some of my lowest points in my life was due to watching porn. I could promise you this, Once i stopped , my life has been nothing but successful. I found a beautiful GF at my job , in which i wouldve been to nervous to walk up to her and talk to her. My confidence is sky rocketed and my overall prospective of life has changed.

I'm going to be honest with you, I've been watching porn since 8 years old (I started with softcore oh Red Shoe Diaries, I loved that show on cinema Golden Choice). From that experience, I was happy (watching adult content when you're not supposed to, kinky). As time went by it did help my view, I realized that women weren't these delicate flowers they were human beings with libido and urges like me and it helped me relate with them on a personal level. Increase and confidence since I realize that I wasn't wrong for having sexual urges. Some of the highest points in my life were thanks to porn. Some of the best stories I've watched, and appreciate were thanks to porn great authors like Jacky St. James, Tsuyatsuya, Tamaki Nozomu, and Nicole Conn. That procreation and sexual acts are carnal acts that I could perform by anyone (the gama of male porn actors is quite wide as well once you pay attention). It helped my life in many ways. And whenever I didn't watch on a regular basis I get obsessed, always thinking about sex. I have a steady job, I have more money than my folks when they were my age, I have my place of my own and any relationship I’ve had being open about sexuality was never an issue. You were the problem pal, not porn.

for me its the exact opposite. mastrubation takes the sexual tension out of situations where it doesn't belong(aka interactions with people of the opposite gender who aren't sexual partners). visual material(not necessarly p*rn in my case) just makes the process more fun. also, people who repress their sexuality(and not let it went through things like porn) are more likely to engage in criminal activities related to SA. just look at priests.

I'm sure you can admit that watching porn (or lewd pictures in your case) allows you to view others in that lewd sexual way (even if you're not actively lusting after them, you can still envision them in situations, clothing, positions, etc because you've seen it). well it's funny to be seeing this now, considering that there's an anti-pornography movement nowadays that is EXTREMELY justified. Pornography has always been seen as negative in all senses, and it's an exploitative industry: it exploits impressionable minds (since a big percentage of porn consumers are teenagers and sometimes even children), and hooks them to something fairly sinister. It's also exploitative because it further contributes to body issues and insecurities. But most importantly, the industry is a dangerous one. MindGeek and other adult video corporates have profited off of r*pe videos, child pornography, revenge porn, and sex trafficking. It is also a blatantly misogynistic industry and is very unethical toward female workers, as they are paid less and sometimes sexually exploited and assaulted while working. Frequent pornographic consumption also messes with brain receptors and the release of rewarding hormones, like dopamine and oxytocin. The porn industry knows very well it's unethical, dangerous, and exploitative, but they receive no repercussions and do nothing to solve the issues unless the New York Times decides to expose them.

I was told by Mel that they don't always clean the sets, the toys ect My other cousin went to a set where she was asked to use toys other people had used.... If porn is so healthy, why do women have an average life span of 36 in the porn industry?

I wouldn't say i was an addict but I think my relationship with porn was unhealthy. I felt uncomfortable watching after many years. I gave nofap a shot was on and off for a while. A 3 months here and then relapse a 1 one month there and then relapse and so on. But then I met a woman who was unlike anyone else I've ever been with I shared my struggle with her and as a romantic partner she has been supportive of my goals to quit. She has been a huge motivation in putting that life behind me. I have never felt so free as this is the longest I've gone without consuming it. I don't even get urges to look at the porn anymore. While a lot of porn is definitely not educational, I think that because of his target audience it makes sense. He probably considered the human trafficking, and he might even be fighting against that. You are perfectly entitled to that opinion. You do not have to watch porn. Many of the things you say are actually true. That said, there are many people who enjoy making porn, watching porn and having sex on camera. It's a Job for many people. Some start out because of wrong reasons and want out, and I hope they do. But what about those that do not want out? Pornography is seen in bad light by almost everyone, but a Vast Majority still watch it. And enjoy it. So, what can you do? Nothing.

Liam Patrick Well in the future, you might expect your wife to act a certain way sexually (like a way you see girls act in porn) which is extremely unrealistic. There are theories that birth control affects woman's choice of men to be more similar to her male relatives than if she is off the pill. How women prefer men with different scents while on and off the pill. Also, since her body thinks she is pregnant while on the pill, could this help explain the vicious levels of hypergamy amongst women nowadays? With the rise of birth control, we've also seen a rise in divorce rates and inceldom in males...coincidence?

It's strange that despite being someone that consumes porn, I have a much stronger affinity for the anti-porn side. I love that none of them even said they were "anti-porn" in their intros, but simply stated a simple statement of the profound effects that porn has had on their lives/careers/professional lives. I agree with Abigail, it does require some level of maturity to consume porn, and it's perfectly okay to consume the material and understand that it does not accurately represent or portray, necessarily, healthy ways to do sex. When J.K. talked about the experience of failing to find pleasure (erection or stimulation) outside porn, that really hit me because at some point, I thought I was having the same issue. Given, I have been single for about 26 years and celibate for 23 of them, I encountered a problem where it felt like I had some issues that J.K. may have talked about and that made me afraid to pursue relationships. Despite being a sex worker, Riley doesn't just talk about the industry from a pro-stance. She outlines nuances and issues faced by sex workers and understands the issues caused by stigma and a lack of sex education. And I love how Maria isn't necessarily on the offensive, but speaks from a place of professional/educational sense. That whole piece about emotional intelligence from J.K. I found really interesting. Disney to porn. Definitely is such an extreme transition for a lot of us growing up!

@@gamecoolguy619 the problem with that statement is that you are separating society from porn. members of society come together to create porn, whether professionally or homemade. Even if we were to view porn as an isolated product outside of society it perks the mind and enables dangerous consumption. It is indisputable that there are are less demeaning videos out there, but its the lure of the most popular ones that draws the attention of human minds, both from the fact its a popular video and because the "lure" is comparable to a drug hit- having multiple women, taboo subjects like step siblings, etc. that is hard to not be curious or interested and really distorts views of women (and men!). As a woman I have experienced this way too many times. Bc my natural body is "desirable" i am not even known by my achievements but as the "big boob girl" by both men and women; my classmate said to me "have fun being a sex toy," being chased to my car by a guy saying he'd impregnate me, ive had people say they had sex with me and when i asked people why they believed it they said, literally, because of my body shape. Mind you, im a person who is choosing to wait; there is literally 0 warrant for anything i previously mentioned except how women are portrayed in media and porn. Warren is right when he says porn is playing with fire to peoples minds, and its not just chemically for the men attracted to women. Im not even completely dead-set against porn- i'd say im 90% against it- bc non-degrading videos of men and women do exist, people need to blow off steam every now and then, can be watched to reinvigorate a couples sex life, etc. But MOST consumed videos are the degrading ones, and the actors, directors, script writers, etc. are not separate from society; they are a part of it.

@@tempura_samurai Well, exaggeration depends on the type of porn. If you watch brazzers or faketaxi type of porn, yes it is not how it goes down in the real world. I don’t think he means let all the kids watch porn. But also I remember before I had sex for the first time I watched so much porn because I wanted to know what to do 😂 although porn shouldn’t be used as an education tool, there should just be better sex ed that not only focuses on the biological and anatomical functions, but that sex should be enjoyable, consensual, that you don’t need pornstar looking genitals, etc. If sex wasn’t stigmatized and the whole idea of virginity and purity wasn’t pushed, then kids wouldn’t need to watch porn to understand what sex looks like, then have misconstrued ideas of sex.
