Withdrawing 50% of profits can be a good strategy too. You get the increasing buffer in your forex account and some benefit to your life from your profit too.

Personally when I don't withdraw, the profits shrink back down and sometimes ends up disappearing. Withdraw when you can and if it doesn't cost you anything(or much). You can always put it back in if you need it at a later time. Make sure there's one less thing that may potentially drain your will power.

There's another aspect as well. What do you do with the profits if you take them away? I'm bearish on fiat on long term so I don't want to keep any money on $. But for trading I need liquidity. Can you maybe talk about balancing long term investments with trading account size? how much of your portfolio you should be trading? how to protect your trade account from fiat volatility?

Stick to regulated brokers - good regulators are UK, Australia, Cyprus and possibly Malta.

Yes, if you trade with a mickey mouse unregulated broker. Unlikely if you trade with a serious one regulated by ESMA regulations.

I think you are dealing with a rogue operation. No legitimate broker will deny you a withdrawal. The tax ruse is bullshit. Stick to regulated, reputable brokers.

No they are most probably trying to scam you - I'm afraid you might be dealing with a rogue broker. Keep firm and ask politely for the withdrawal of your funds.
