Wym Netflix pokemon series? The only thing Netflix has done with pokemon is the remake of the first movie which used the same voice for ash that they have been using for years. Not only that, it isn't a series. If you are talking about the TV show that happens to be on Netflix. Why bring up Netflix? They have no influence over the decision of who voices ash. @VerbalLearning2 жыл бұрын
@@Gzilla313 That and like 70% or more of all the revenue generated by the pokemon franchise comes from merchandise. So while it started out as a game series it has become a merchandising brand which means the games, movies, anime, card game etc, all serve to sell more merchandise rather than the other way around. They could spend more money on making a better pokemon game, they could spend more money on hiring more people to help Gamefreak with the nitty gritty details of game development and leave them to their strong suit which is world, character and pokemon design. They could give the games more development time to polish them up both graphically and mechnically. They could do so many things, but they choose not to because it's not where the money is. Non-Merchandise pokemon items or media simply serve to keep the brand alive and fresh in peoples minds and memories as well as push the new pokemon into peoples consciousness so they're that much more likely to be able to sell plushies, bed sheets, posters, mugs, you name it. It's a sad state of affairs if you love pokemon because of the games but it's the reality we live and the sooner people realize this the faster everyone will understand why the games are the way they are rather than just blaming Game Freak for being lazy or incompetent (which they might be and they do deserve some criticism but so does The Pokemon Company and Nintendo for how they're choosing to run the franchise).

@rodrigocaceres28792 жыл бұрын
I think that you arent considering that if this game does bad, it means that GameFreak has an excuse to say "told you so, only classic pokemon games with little change sell well! Of course it's a win-win situation for them, after all it's a business and that's their plan. This time they didn't do the "bare minimum", they just aren't the best at developing games and made a safe bet with it's resources which is definitely a mediocre result in many areas but at least an actual effort of doing something different and a fun product. I can guarantee you that if this would have flopped, you wouldn't have seen them try to do a Pokemon open world/sandbox in a long time, if ever. At least now there's a chance that they polish and improve on this type of game. Yeah, I'm aware that it's GameFreak and that there's a good chance that they make what they always do with sequels. But if there's one time that the fanbase actually has to support a new game it's with this one. If people also pass on the next main entry if they do the bare minimun again (unlikely), then there's even a greater chance of actual change and them considering the feedback of their games improving too little. After all they are a company and their income is the best way to make a point with them. It's whishful thinking, but from my point of view this is the only chance that we have as part of the fanbase that is tired of their products. Of course, people also have to be critical of the product even if they support it to see if they bet on it to improve sales.

@@HaxStudio No, the bare minimum would be without any kind of gameplay changes like they usually do. As I said, I agree that they could have done way more but I also explained why this project needs support. It's definitely a budget project, I'm not defending it's shortcomings, but it's important to understand why as customers interested in the franchise we have to recognize when it's an actual attempt of something different and ignoring this entry would do more wrong.
@HaxStudio2 жыл бұрын
@@rodrigocaceres2879 It’s still bare minimum. This is the bare minimum they could do when it comes to “open world”, not the bare minimum they could do for a main series title. If you have conflicted feelings and can't muster the motivation to complete even intrinsically set goals within the game it's not some personal failure--it's the game failing to do the literal one thing it should do; Entertain you. I agree with the stuff people say like this but what always makes me disagree is changing the game from turn based. I love the turn based, it's great. We just need abilities back and bring back double battling and it would have been even better. More trainers and held items would have been nice. But it's a step in the right direction.
@BUGHUNTER62 жыл бұрын
I agree, turn-based is great and it's a big part of Pokémon's DNA, it just needs more variety and polish. I think people really underestimate the amount of work it would take to overhaul the combat system into real-time. Though I was kinda disappointed that you can't even attack multiple enemies at once in this game... And being attacked three times in a row is kind of insane. They have to make moves a little weaker, Pokémon getting wiped with one move just happens almost constantly, taking away so much of the strategic aspect... Lots of problems still need addressing and I honestly doubt they will. It's always a few steps forward and a few back.
@sciplaytester86402 жыл бұрын
There are just significantly better ways of doing turn based combat. Look at the speed stat on pokemon? It doesn't really affect combat at all except for who goes first, and some minor things like the damage of Quick Attack. What if there was a "Turn Timer" that allowed your pokemon to use a "Normal" attack move and your Pokemon used that attack every time the timer hit zero, and how fast the time was is directly affected by your pokemons speed stat. And then the more damage your pokemon does / takes, you'll build up a "Special" meter which allows you to command your pokemon to use an ability like "Flamethrower". The combat could be really dynamic. Just look at Final Fantasy XIII. That was technically "turn based" combat but it felt like watching a FMV fight sequence because of the way it was designed. Gamefreak is just lazy and know that they can do the bare minimum and still make millions.

This is the most refreshing pokemon game since X & Y IMO. I hope they build on this foundation; a sequel to Arceus could end up being the GOAT of all Pokemon games.

If you slap the Pokemon name on any "turd of a game", it will automatically sell millions. Pokemon is just too tied to nostalgia for so many people. They are like, *"SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!"*

@@sk8brder40 I'm the opposite. I put in only enough in BotW to beat the story and never touched it again after wandering around after I did that. I was turbo bored after I found a winning formula to beating the game. Meanwhile with LA, I'm well over 150 hours and still going.

This had so many of my thoughts! Goodness did I love catching the pokemon, and was always a little saddened when I had to resort to fighting them rather than doing something else to calm them down or tire them out (yes I know you can just run away and come back, but that's not engaging) The graphical issues I think come up so well with this game because they're so obvious and in your face. It feels like little to no work was done to hide all of the issues, or blend the LODs together. The world was constantly popping and warping in front of you, and there were tons of times where effects just completely broke down (like those weird square cutouts around you when things like water were behind you). If this game had another 6-12 months of polish working on the visuals, I bet we could have enjoyed it much more, as they could have made the whole thing look more stable and cohesive. But as that seems completely impossible for GF to do that for some reason, I guess we'll never see a truly polished experience from them.

I think the biggest problem is how GF has to put out a pokemon game every year and how this makes the quality of the games suffer They should start advertising spin offs a lot more and instead do mainline games every 3 years or so, or maybe work with other developers and share the workload with these games

Yea I mean… I agree the game is interesting and fun, but lacks certain features and depth I would like to see.. besides being dreadfully ugly, but it is a good foundation and as long as game freak continues to improve on the formula and move down this path we might actually one day get a real modern day Pokémon experience.. one day..

@@patrikkralik3610 I have 90 hours in the game. It’s ugly. The models are ok, but it’s not a pretty game, it’s just easy to look past the graphics. But if you stop to inspect textures it’s bad, even on some of the clothing for models there are blurry textures, and while the Pokémon look fine, they aren’t very alive, just serviceable.

"We love Pokemon more than we respect ourselves" And that right there is why I have abandoned Pokemon in favor of Shin Megami Tensei. I have too much self respect to be wasting my time on an inferior monster catching game. IF (and this is a big if) Gamefreak continues to improve Pokemon and Arceus isn't just some fluke, I might come back to the franchise. But I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one.
