Hey, Sandra. Nov 17, 2024 This old lady still loves watching Randy's videos, too. He was an extraordinary talent. There are moments in his videos where he seemed to be the cutest guy on the planet. ❤ All his talents, that voice, that face, the hair, the smile and that head tilt. So swoon-worthy! Odd thing...we've seen him wear this jacket a few times. He must have loved wearing it-it was probably comfy.

@ thanks for the reply, and one of my favorite utube videos of Randy is when he sings Midnight Flyer…he sings solo and you can actually see and hear him playing his bass guitar …he is adorable in this one…hope you can find it! In most of the songs by the eagles his bass guitar is drowned out by the other guitars or the drums. This one is a keeper and I play it often! 😍

I often hear the bassline of Randy... I like that musicline....With earpieces in and putting the music loud you can hear in every eagles song his bassline. Particularly when the song is written by Randy.❤ And I am nearly 73

I'm soon to be 70. I've researched all of the Eagles. Likes, dislikes, personalities, weaknesses, strong points, who did what, where, and when. etc etc. if you judged the Eagles on a point system, Randy racks up the most points. By far, the best vocals. Best personality. He could play both lead guitar and bass guitar very well. Best song writer of the group. He excelled, even though the two asses of the group(Henley & Frey), were constantly manfacturing trouble toward him. They probably felt threatened by him. RIP Randy Meisner.

I have watched this many many times. There are alot of comments about the lady who is singing with him and are they in a relationship. I can see where everyone gets the impression she adores him but I see it completely different. Just a thought: We all know he has stage fright and 9 times out of ten sings with his eyes closed. As you can see in the video he has developed a few ticks both facial and his left shoulder raising, possibly to off set the stage fright. I think she is a source of grounding for him and by keeping eye contact he can look at her and remain present during the performance. Near the end, she completely looks away and he finishes the song. In any case, it's so nice to see him enjoying performing.
@earthlingsareinsane71932 жыл бұрын
Actually, Randy has always had this cute thing going on with his shoulders, especially, when he was playing his bass guitar. This guitar is bigger than his bass,so his movements are a little different But, anyway,go to P Noe video of Randy singing Playing In The Deep End. It shows quite a few scenes where he's getting into the music and playing his bass guitar. He's so adorable in those scenes when he moves his shoulders.

In spite of being prone to a bit of stage fright, he was a veteran performer and a grown adult...I'm sure he didn't need a mommy to hold his hand onstage. The Lady singing backup was there purely because of her vocal talent, not as emotional support, I'll wager.

Vaguely remember this, and hearing it on our local top 40 rock station. I remember hearing that he had left the Eagles. Then one night he shows up in a bar in Northern Nebraska, playing with a local bar band. I recognized him immediately, but other people there didn't believe me, that he was one of the eagles. Couldn't get close to him, he had these HUGE guys doing security for him. Sad part was he didn't play any eagles music at all. Me and my friends drank lotta Jack Daniels that night, didn't even get to talk to him. He's from Scottsbluff Nebraska, bout 50 miles from where we saw him that night. From what I understand he had moved back to Nebraska from LA for awhile, eventually going back to LA . Great old school song though! 🙂💯

Marty Albright I’m not sure Randy’s best would fill a cd. I love the guy, but the reality of his catalogue is what it is. That is, if you’re looking to sell millions. My favorite probably wouldn’t make your list. And vice versa. It’s ironic he was uncomfortable in the spotlight, and then had to front his own band. Seemed super nice, one of my favorite singers, bass players and Eagle. But if the record companies could have made a buck, they would have. And, BTW, I have his solo albums on vinyl. So I think I’m a fan.

SouthVA 757 I certainly agree with you regarding Linda. Although what little I’ve found on their few collaborations, not sure if it would go anywhere. But Randy and Andrew Gold in her backing band together would be something to see. Also check “ Black Tie”, I think they have one song on YT, “Learning (or Playing) the Game. I could make my Randy’s greatest hits and get a single CD out of it, but have my doubts about its mass appeal. E.g., one if not my favorite Randy song is “Is itTrue” from On the Border. Doubt many could hum that off the top, but it’s a favorite of mine. I have seen the Richard Marx and Timothy B TTTL, and the others out. Thanks for the response and info!
