Rust in Peace was very well received by both critics and fans and was responsible for bringing Megadeth to the attention of a mainstream metal audience, and it is considered one of the most influential heavy metal albums of all time. The album was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 33rd Grammy Awards, and "Hangar 18" was nominated for the same award at the 34th Grammy Awards. Allmusic described the record as "easily Megadeth's strongest musical effort", and it was noted as one of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Megadeth's most underrated period. Endgame-Thirteen, the Big 4, when Dave still sounded good, Ellefson came back, Broderick was in the band and right before they started tuning down.

Damn, only 9 years ago they sounded this good. Should have seen em when I had the chance back then, before the years really hit Mustaine hard. Also, Broderick was a fucking machine, how you can play those solos so slickly while smirking and smiling to the crowd is beyond me.

Saw them here in the early 90s then moved to Oregon and seen them at the Salem armory same tour! They blew speakers in less than 5 minutes. Took a few but the show went on! Lived here in central Oregon ever since.

My favourite album ever recorded. Broke the original vinyl. Now have cd but this live version of all the album blows me away, probably my most KZbin watched video. Always Megadeth to drum my feet to.

Imo chris broderick is probably the best live player megadeth have had, but not a single soul on earth can write a solo quite like marty friedman did!
