Not all of us are privileged enough to be able to afford to pay into the public education system and then still come out of pocket to homeschool kids. I know because we’re not even a poor family and we homeschool two out of our four kids and can’t afford to homeschool the other two. People say it’s so flippantly, but if it came down to you having to homeschool your kids while paying $13,000 in taxes for a public education you’re denied, I would see you fighting for choice as well. @@PlayCodeCreate no I homeschool and part of a huge homeschool community of moms from all different kinds of backgrounds and financial situations... middle & low class one income families, single mom etc. IF THERES A WILL, THERES A WAY. Many I know have sacrificed their jobs, by having to take on not so great jobs due to shift changes, many thrift for clothes and shoes and cook food from scratch at home. I’ve seen it done, there’s sacrifice yes! People were teaching their kids from home for hundreds of years the “official school/education” system is actually newer you should look into the history of it. Many have relocated just to homeschool their kids as well. Be encouraged, there’s a way!

Also there’s a bunch of homeschool curriculum everywhere online both for free and low costs. I don’t “virtual school”. A child who’s homeschooled doesn’t need 8 hours of education at home only 2-3 hours a day and average 4 days a week it’s amazing!

To anyone who thinks women are more suited to lead than men, just take note of this meeting as a prime example of why that's not true. All five women left because they were frightened and uncomfortable (boo hoo!). Only the sole man on the board had the conviction and integrity to stay on the dais and honor his commitment as an elected school board member and hear out the concerns of the parents. The five women who left should be removed from the board. If they can't handle pressure, they shouldn't be in positions of leadership or authority.

In this video, the fact is that among a school board of five women and one man, every one of those women chose to shirk their responsibility as elected board members and leave the meeting because they were unable to cope with the criticism and pressure they were facing. Leaders need to be able to face criticism, hear out their constituents and not crumple under pressure, as these women did. Only the man remained to hear out the parents and honor his commitment to them as a school board member.

Bruce7 last time they didn’t know anything about the pandemic. They thought that it was transmissible by just looking at someone, touching packages. And it happened FAST; we didn’t have a problem one minute and the next, nursing home people are dropping like flies. And then a few young people and even kids and instead of one state it was two. So the natural response to that was to STOP everything in order to get some control or understanding. We have now knowledge of why the blood clots, how to treat it, we know that infection is by breathing it in or touching our faces and exposing mucous membranes. We have vaccines that keep people less sick and our hospitals less overwhelmed and keep people from dying or from experiencing organ damage. But it’s only if we do those things that we can achieve the best outcome while we try to do minimum necessary life activities. Hospitals are asking for mobile morgues in Texas. Desantis is opening up antibody transfusion clinics in Florida because the people there are a hopeless case when it comes to cooperation and information and therefore they need special more expensive treatment that is not FDA approved.

Children are not harmed by this on a statistical level. Not anecdotally. The bad stories get passed around quite quickly but in large part the flu is still worse for kids. The kids suicide rate has gone up which I’m sure lockdowns and mask wearing from fear are likely influencers of this. Kids are more harmed by the combination of isolation and fear and learning issues from not seeing the teachers face. I’m teaching reading and part of that is to clearly show the shape of your mouth for different sounds. It’s in textbooks.
