Just found your channel a few days ago. I enjoy the no BS approach. Much prefer real people over the professional KZbin mechanics. Keep posting, im watching the new, also the older ones.

For the compression or oil rings side clearance exceeded the max allowance, say for example the feeler of .004 fit, how do you tighten things up? (Also - thanks for the video! I've been doing research in attempt to be confident enough to take on this project for my 70).

If your rings have too much gap, the rings either aren't in evenly, or you will need to punch the cylinders .010 inches to the next size up. I would double and triple check that they are in at an even spot. Also check the roundness of your cylinders. I have a video on that also.

1978 80 Shovel with Kieth Black pistons run tighter tolerance or stock? hardley any wear on cylinders or pistons.

Kb pistons, it depends what size pistons are currently in there. They should say .STD .001 or up to .006 use the same size thats in there now. Std means standard and the .001-.006 is bored over sizes. And kb is actually what I'm installing here.

@DWchopshop the cylinders are Standard bore 3.500, pistons are 3.498 Kieth Black's. My question use the factory ring gap or looser gap?
