Now Hypnocube must face his greatest rival the Hypnotaoad!
@TheNZJester9 жыл бұрын
You should try to find 5 square flat plastic convex Fresnel magnifying lenses to make a box cover to go over it. That would make it even more hypnotic. Imagine what it would do to a room with that sort of lens over it

Not sure if you take show and tell suggestions, but i thought you might like to show Metal Earth 3D laser cut models. They are made by a company called Fascinations, and are extremely detailed small laser cut metal models that don't require any soldering or glue, just some pliers. I have made a few and extremely enjoy it, there is even a Star Wars series of them. Very cheap too and I think people would quite like them!

Needs a 'Rubix Cube Mode' where it starts of as random colours and slowly rotates the LED colour pattern to simulate a completed brick! Then, someone needs to scale it down so it fit's into an actual Rubix Cube. Making it portable and rechargeable!

I've learnt a lesson today... As long as the silkscreen looks sexy enough, people will buy it, whatever the cost.

Why does the assembled cube cost $50 less then do it yourself kit?
@Gerberbaby9229 жыл бұрын
David Thornley So you are saying they made the DIY kit more expensive so it would sell more?
@Crocxr89 жыл бұрын
Gerberbaby922 The $100 assembled version appears to be an older version without USB capability. Then $150 for this kit which has USB and $275 for the assembled USB cube.

I made my own hypno cube for like $5. I bought 100 super bright leds for like $3. Although it took like a month to get them imported from china. They are better quality and easier to use than the ones in the video. They have two leads. Positive and negative and have full RGB on their own.

I've actually been interested in buying an LED cube for a few years now, but my main issue is the animations. I would like it if the LEDs did visualization for audio beyond pre-programmed cycles, then you'd get more bang for your buck beyond a pretty lamp.

Could you put mirrors on two of the back sides and show us what that looks like? I think that would look even better... Also I think I would add a cover for the electronics.
@CritiasSelethos9 жыл бұрын
150 is a rip. I'm an engineer for the Navy, I have built something similar to this for for fun in about half a day with about 40 bucks. Even with shipping and a bit of extra for profit, a reasonable price is like 65$. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. That's the fun part anyways.
@unvergebeneid9 жыл бұрын
One hundred and fifty bucks? For what?!
@Ravengeno9 жыл бұрын
64 RGB LED's, which are quite expensive, the board, the microcontroller, the box, the switches, all resistors, all other small components, support for USB controlling, the code that runs the microcontroller that controls the animations. I'd say that it's a fair price.

I like you Norm, but as a Brit it's bad enough watching Americans misspell the English language, but why can't you at the very least pronounce it properly? In the USA, how in the hell does the word 'soldering' become 'soddering'. It's 'sold-err-ring'. If you sell an item, you haven't 'sodd' it have you, you've 'sold' it. Jesus!, you'll all be using the ancient, out of date Imperial standard weights and measures next....Oh! wait...
