Today we test the VIM Tools HDR614 (3/8" Drive Heavy Duty Ratchet).
There's been a lot of talk about who makes the strongest ratchets, and we weren't invited to that party, so we hosted our own to see how we stand. Take a look at how well we did vs the competition.

Project farm is the man? I really like the way he makes jigs makes results consistent unlike this hodge podge deal . I wouldn't have posted a video breaking the same manufacture tool I'm testing especially when it should hold up better then the ratchet .

That’s really impressive for a 3/8” ratchet! After watching it fly in the first test I would get a hard hat!!

been using this ratchet since it came out and it’s been fantastic. no hiccups at all. Also, regarding the handle that people like to dog on, it’s not as big as people think. it’s super comfy, and i have a video on my instagram showing the handle in comparison to tool truck ratchets and it’s very close.

I got the new flex head versions in 1/4" and 3/8" drive. I also have the fixed 1/4" drive ratchet. I hate that i waited so long to try them because the back drag is freaking phenomenal!!! Better than most usa ratchets i own!! The strength is freaking amazing too. Still not a fan of the of the comfort grip, but i can overlook it because of how great everything else is. I really hope they apply the phenomenal back drag to a roto head ratchet in the near future. Seriously, the back drag is crazy for a Taiwanese made ratchet!! Id really like to see a non comfort grip version.

I recently purchased DFXL100 wrenches and really happy with them but these promises from vim tools to finish out the set makes me wish i bought there competitors wrenches because it feels like i wasted my money when theres no 18mm in the set along with other sizes. Now they have Koons trucking falsifying data by not performing the test in the same fashion hes showing the results from project farm and not backing it by verifying it. Beaking crap dont impress me . Now if vim can make a ratchet like snap on and keep it in production for 30+ years and hold up that would be impressive as it seems vim discontinues quite a few tools .
