I’ve watched a few of your videos which are so informative - thank you. I’m just really surprised that high end wireless headsets all sound tinny/compressed compared to very cheap wired alternatives. Is that just a compromise of using wireless that no-one has overcome yet?
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your support! It's more so a matter of when microphone noise cancellation is added to any headset (wired or wireless), you sacrifice a bit of voice quality for the benefit of blocking background noise.

@@HeadsetAdvisor Definitely! For the Focus 2 being about the same weight as t75, the Jabra Evolve, the Focus 2 feels a lot lighter. I think it has to do with the headband style/design. It gives it a lot less pressure at the top.

I have the Evolve 75 and thinking to get the Focus 2. I like everything about the 75 except for when I'm speaking I'm unable to hear myself as clearly/loud as I'd like therefore its a bit awkward. I wanted to like the focus 2 BUT when the noise level increases the Poly ANC has more artifacts and the voice sounds more artificial than the Jabra. @HeadsetAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marco, we've done a number of range tests and we found the range is typically 50-80 feet. It's very hard to know if it will give the range you need in your environment without trying it yourself. I agree that the Poly is better at ANC and range, but for working from home in a relatively quiet environment, the Jabra is probably better as I find the voice clarity is much better on the Jabra. Listen to the cracking on the Voyager Focus 2 @24:26 and you can hear the wind when he's outside. The Jabra is also an older headset so I'd love to see the Evolve2 65/86 and forthcoming 75 compared to the Poly.

Hi Pepa, the Evolve2 65 doesn't have the ANC feature built into the speakers but the Focus UC 2 does have adjustable ANC you can customize and use sidetone at the same time. Another model to consider that also has ANC and sidetone that can be used at the same time is here kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXy3kHltarmnecU

@@HeadsetAdvisor Hi, thank you very much for recommendation, I will put it on my list. My concern with Jabra Evolve2 's is that on 65, sidetone function little like hearthrough - it passes in all sounds not only your voice. And on 85, ANC will turn off during sidetone and sidetone uses outer mics for capturing your voice and - sadly - sounds around you during sidetone ON. I read lot of posts that mentions it. Jabra stays away from it and cant give clear answer how sidetone should work on these models and if this is repairable software error or design flaw, which cant be repaired. And thats the reason Im looking elsewhere(I tried more 85 and 65 units and I cant make calls from home because of this). My biggest favourite is Voyager Focus 2. Or Jabra Evolve 75, which according to some users have better implementation of ANC during calls with sidetone. Thank you again for your recommendation.

Great informative video, the test approach is of great quality. Question regarding mic noise canceling quality: is there a difference between phone/laptop bluetooth vs dongle vs cable? Or is this mostly influencing voice and volume quality?
@HeadsetAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
The noise canceling qualities would remain the same in all three of your examples. The reason is the noise cancellation is resident to the headset. So, no matter whether you're using it with a dongle, cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth, the NC capabilities remain the same. The same cannot be said for the voice quality however. In that case, I'd reverse your order by saying the best audio quality should be expected when hard wired, followed by dongle and finally Bluetooth. Hope this helps, and thank you for your question.

Hi David, You doing a great job with this kind of video's, i like it very much! I have a question, i am using a Jabra 85H ANC BT headphone, do you tested this one? I use it for MS teams and phone calls, but i recieve complains about background noises with this headset. Probaly because the mic has no ACN but only the speakers? I also recentley changed to an IPhone 11, and customers say that they hear me not clearly anymore. I do not have this problem when i using it with a Samsung S6 android smartphone. Based on the facts above, i consider to buy the Jabra Evolve 75 or the Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC. Most of the time i use it with BT with my Iphone with a sip client app. Do you think this should work better with one of these 2 headsets, and match on the expectations of your video?
