Why would you even do this video when there is a clear disadvantage to the Juke R compared to the 911 GT2 RS? It's a no brainer that a car that handles as well as a Porsche 911 GT2 RS will out perform something with more than 100 less horsepower and 1000lbs more weight around a track. It's simple physics, which also applies to the drag race. It's just no contest because of power to weight ratio.

Not always the case. If the chassis and suspension tune does not suit the engine or the dynamics of the vehicle in general are no good then you can shove all the HP in the world under the bonnet and you wont achieve a damn thing.

That's why I stated that a car that handles as well as a 911 GT2 RS would do so well because 911's are usually renowned for their excellent handling, which means Porsche got the chassis and suspension right, aside from other aspects. I completely agree that a car with an unsuited suspension and chassis would not handle well at all, in which HP will only make it worse.

Hmmm The Porsche GT2 RS weighs 3,032 lbs and sports 600hp. VS the Juke which weighs 4,000 lba and 445 lbs. I wonder what wouold happen if the Juke were to shed 1,000 lbs? Would the Porsche still beat it. I thinking it wouold probably be slaughtered by the Juke! A quick way to test the theory would be to add 1,000 lbs to the Porsche to off set the Juke's serious weight and HP disadvantage. The only area where the Juke has some edge would be the 4WD

997 GT2 RS will be the greatest Porsche of all time if you ask me...918 Spyder is legendary and scary fast and Carrera GT has massive torque with the V10 but the GT2RS with the twin turbo flat six and 6 speed is the ultimate DD/Track Car and it won't scare you to bits like the GT

Excellent comparison!! My only gripe is the fact that all of your tests were done on damp surfaces...Had they been completed on perfectly dry, prepped surfaces the RWD GT2 RS would have absolutely murdered the Juke R, instead of just beating it by a large margin. Still a great comparison though!

This is simply a little beast with the heart of Godzilla! The normal hp for the GT-R is 545 to take a smaller version of that engine and increase the power up to 595 is rediculous!! The Nismo package takes the GT-R to 600... Are you serious? Like seriously as an owner of a GT2 RS I can tell you the only reason I bought that car was due to it being a real drivers car a legal race car. You talk about GT-R its a great car I would never trash a vehicle but seriously if you never drove either or you will never understand the difference between those two cars. GT2 RS is a racers car many owners of those cars are professional racers. Its not the badge its the feel of the car I can tell you that as much as GT-R is a great vehicle but it does not interact or require the skill that you do in a GT2 RS. The feeling or driving a GT2 RS is second to none. Clutch is nice and firm and the pedal travel is short also youre shifts are percise. Unfortunately i did not feel the rush or that much fun of driving a GT-R. You cannot bash a Porsche and say it is bullshit if you never drove one. But that being said paying for Nissan 590 000 is absurd. You either got stupid amount of money to blow or you really got bad taste. And here is a list of cars I owned so far 458 Italia, 911 Turbo S, R8 V10, GT-R, lamborghini aventador LP700-4, GT2 RS and a 97 Honda civic and honestly most cars I sold and got rid of them but only two will never be sold. 97 honda civic and a GT2 RS. You got to have something to remind you where you been and where youre at now.

Because the GTR wasn't ugly enough Nissan felt the need to build the Juke-R. A car designed to make the GTR look better. Regardless of what anyone could feel about it's performance it is an awful lot of money to spend on a car about attractive as the defunct Pontiac Aztec. Because for that kind of money any one could build an incredible performing attractive supercar. The standard Juke wasn't worth a second glance to begin with. With the Juke-R you pass fast enough that no one will realize exactly ho grotesque your car actually is.

This guy performing the test is completely contradicting himself. He says the Juke and the GTR are not just wide eyed press the pedal and go. Then as he's going around the track he talks about how easy the THING handles with awd and how easy it is to get out of a corner with speed because of its brillant auto trans which is a copy of PDK. Its easy just look at the 2 driving experinces. One is ok I'm driving around the track in this drive itself GTR (JUKE). The other involves skill & Excitment.

i think you guys are missing the point. There are only about 5 Juke-Rs in the world I believe and its not meant to be some widely spread production car. Of course its stupidly over-priced, its kinda of a fun little toy project from Nissan. Think of how fun it would have been to be an engineer getting to design and work on a fun little project like this. Don't judge it as a standard production super-car. It's image is supposed to be just plain fun.

I think it would have made more sense for them to put the GTR's engine and AWD system into a Maxima... Then it'd have been like a GTR Sedan... That seems like it would have been a better idea. My thing is why even test a gt-r powered crossover in the wet with a 100 less horsepower with the Juke-R having the not so latest nor fastest gt-r engine in it? To get a true test, test the Juke-R in the dry, with the new and more powerful GT-R engine with some upgrades bringing the horsepower at least close to the porsche then lets see the numbers. Its like why even publicize this matchup and there is no comparison. Its a no brainer how the Porsche would perform.

I find it hilarious that a lot of people can't phantom why the juke is so expensive. First, do you think the GT-R parts will fit in perfectly in the juke straight out of the box and the engineers/techs that are going to modify those parts and the juke chassis will be paid in cereal?. They are almost building a new car from down up and it's obvious most of you don't know the cost involved in car development. I'm very sure much of the cost that went into building this thing wasn't recovered.

The Nissan GT-R would struggle with a GT2 RS, much less the Juke-R. 911 Turbo would of been a closer match in terms of performance. Yes, the Juke-R has a hypercar pricetag but that's because it is a limited production toy that was never meant to be put into production. I think Nissan is just taking advantage in getting back the money used up with cost and development of the Juke-R which initially would of been revenue loss only to draw attention to the brand. Nevertheless, great video!

I remember reading that Nissan made the Juke R just as a single show car. They took it to a car show somewhere in to one of the rich middle east oil countries and all the rich oil spoiled kids that already have 15 Ferrari's wanted one and said they would pay anything. So they went ahead and made a limited production since they were already pretty much sold. The people buying this car only want it to just show people what they can buy.

1) More practical 2) This is a limited production car and surviving cars will be worth alot more then R35 GTR's due to how few exist. 3) What I love about the Juke-R is you get all the GTR power you want, however able to carry 5 and be a practical car. Its like a more powerful and cabable version of my 04 Stage 2 WRX Wagon, Similar concept though, practical performance that grips unbelivable good.

Why would you take your "suv/crossover/minivan" the lowest one on the totem pole in your line up and put all the goodies from your car on the top of that totem pole in all respects and then price it 4 times as much as that car and think it's a good idea??? WTF is Nissan doing? have they been sipping on some nuclear waste infected tea? This is why I haven't been impressed with nissan in a couple of decades.

You would have to be very rich to spend 590K on a GT-R as it would lose money faster than last weeks non winning lottery ticket. Whereas the GT2 RS and Super Sport hold their value like nothing on earth (or even go up in value) , the pimped up GT-R would probably be worth less than a stock GT-R when new. If you have lots of cash you buy the GT2 RS and the thought of a GT-R would never ever cross your mind
