We had a 1 handle shower in our house that would never get hot. Even though the temperature dial was turned all the way up. This is not like a 2 handle shower where you can just turn the Hot dial on only.
The fix though was actually not too hard. Just remove the temp dial cap with a screw, remove and re-adjust a plastic "ring" on the inside. The ring limits the extreme's of the temp dial.
Just make sure you don't break the plastic ring.

Thank you! I installed a brand new delta faucet--switching from double handle and have been soooo sad to have NO hot water ever since. Barely lukewarm where it used to be so nice and nearly scalding hot (I love a very hot and very cold shower). My setup is a bit different, but I think your video is the most helpful I have found to understand what is the potential problem. Gonna shut off the water again and have another go at it. Wish me luck! ;)

Good looking out , Dave my family has this very same Delta Facet . Our Hot Water adjuster Has disintegrated . I got people out back firing up the 3D printer , (Takes a Couple Hours the get the Steam in the generator) Any how . As to removing the white plastic regulator a good spray of a Lime Dissolve solvent should take care of the corrosion thanks again yours truly Mark bravo

Darn! My issue us with a single handle. Delta Porter shower with valve. I don't think it's the same, but I'll take a look. These new ones don't allow you to have too hot of water, but this is just waaay to cool for hot water. Never hot, just warm at most.

Dave, the little cream colored round piece that TURNS to make the water hotter--mine has the little peg broken off. Any idea where I can get this part?

If you knew the model number, maybe you could find the name and number for that part. On amazon it looks like they just sell the whole inner-workings, not individual parts. But if it's going to cost $30, you could just buy a whole new faucet. amzn.to/3qcoVpV OR... you could try.... take the plastic piece off, drill a hole where the plastic pin was, then try to epoxy a pin or nail to replace the plastic pin. It might not hold, but would be worth a shot.

I think I would have cleaned all that mineral buildup with some vinegar or CLR while I was in there.
