Bob Barker only just passed away in August 2023, being only four months shy of turning 100. To be specific, he hosted The Price is Right from 1972 to 2007. Shortly after, Drew Carey became host, and he's been doing the show ever since. Bob actually did all his own moves in that fight. He actually had a black belt in karate. Earlier on in his career, he got his lessons from an actor who would later become famous in his own right, Chuck Norris.

Bob Barker was also a passionate advocate for animal rights. He was famous for regularly reminding viewers to have their pets spayed or neutered to decrease the population of homeless pets, and, more behind the scenes, he was and is (via his estate) a major contributor to direct-action campaigns like the Sea Shepard Society, which monitors and actively disrupts (non-violently) the illegal operations of the massively-corrupt whaling industries of nations like Japan and Norway. IIRC, Japanese illegal whalers actually rammed and sank a vessel Barker had sponsored for the SSS in the Antarctic whale preserve, so Barker promptly bought another. As the movie shows us, Bobby don't play.

I’d also like to add your “Bob Barker” factoid explanation that Bob Barker’s rep and his show SKYROCKETED when this movie dropped back in the day! Bob himself said the movie made him and “The Price is Right!” appealed more to the young demographic (us 90s kids, basically!) so much that he ALWAYS gets audience members from then on that kept referencing Happy Gilmore stuff off-cam to him and he always got a kick out of it.
