Fun fact... the bug knocking over the tower was not a fun scene to shoot. 4 stunt people were hurt that day from the collapse of the tower and the runaway bug. Had to wait for an ambulance to get back on set each time to continue shooting. And the subway for lunch and dinner every day got old fast lol. The hotel they rented for staff was in a horrible part of town and most of us had to switch hotels to sleep safely then can to the original hotel for the bus to the set every morning. The scummy hotel is in the opening to 21 Jump street.

Bob Barker trained with Chuck Norris? You’re making that up.

@@TheScribe1.0 Not at all... I first learned he was a black belt when he was being interviewed by 20/20 or 60 minutes on a milestone anniversary as host of the price is right. In the interview it showed him dressed in a gi with a black belt kicking the crap out of a heavy bag, and for a man who was in his early 70's his kicks had substantial power and speed to them. Chuck Norris was his next door neighbor for decades and the two were very close friends. He is still alive at age 99, and to reach that age he'd had to have taken care of himself.

Happy's fight with Bob Barker is both classic AND epic. The movie's writers tried to think of a celebrity for Happy to fight, and his name jus t kind of came up. Everybody loved the idea, but thought there was just no way they could get Bob on board. Bob himself was unsure, but agreed in the end - on condition that HE won the fight. As it happens, Bob has been a keen martial arts enthusiast for most of his life. So it turned out to be pretty much ALL Bob in that fight scene. The only real work his stunt double got was in the rolling down the hill part.

I've said it on many a reaction: I'm not a sports person. At all. And yet for some reason, movies that feature sports still manage to get my attention and admiration somehow. I could probably list 20 sports-related movies that I really love and think you would probably like too, but I have to recommend two of my favorites, which both also have comedy elements as well. "The Replacements," with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman, and "Mystery, Alaska," with Russel Crowe and Burt Reynolds. If they aren't already on your list, I hope you or someone on your Patreon will add them!

A lot of people don't realize but pre-American Pie 90s were still pretty wild. Comedies were usually PG-13 rather than Seth Rogen R, but they pushed that rating to its limits. Everything was raunchy and juvenile. It wasn't just Adam Sandler. This is pre-Wedding Singer Adam Sandler, so he's still playing kind of an angry, bipolar guy. Wedding Singer was the first time we got a real, adult character out of him. At this point, he's fitting right in with 90s comedy that was dominated by Jim Carrey. Reign Over Me is still my favourite Adam Sandler movie, followed by Spanglish and Wedding Singer, but this is nostalgic for me, like Ace Ventura. I'm not going to pretend it's a Jerry Lewis classic, but I still get a kick out of it - and the random appearance by Carl Weathers, AKA Apollo Creed from the Rocky movies.
