I'm still wondering, isn't it possible to make a virus that does an internet speedtest on the background? I mean, if all their computers continually do internet speedtests on the background, their internet will be so slow that they can't continue to scam. Or maybe it's possible to overclock their hardware from distance, or only use 1% of the memory space or something like that. Essentially making their computers useless, or working, but working really really slow. Or order some pizza's somewhere nearby. Or ask them if you can talk to their manager and then tell the manager that he's spreading loads of info about their company, like the manager his name and some other employees their names and such. Essentially making them suspect each other from all kind of things while none of them actually did anything. *Edit: or buy a new internet subscription for them, so their own old internet subscription get's cancelled and their new one is really really cheap and slow.

What they do is amazing, and I don't want to be too critical as I could never do it. They are aware police won't do anything. What does scaring them achieve apart from good video? I get very few of these calls, but my usual routine is to try to sell them aluminum siding. Sometimes when they're trying to claim they're American, I ask them what 7 + 7 is. The response is always a long pause, then "I am afraid I do not have information regarding what is 7 + 7."

I Work for a telecommunications company in Canada, which alot of our customers are elderly - I try to educate as many of them as I can on things like this. Its very unfortunate. I have seen that Siliguri scam call centre video on Reddit. I don't know if anything happened since that time or not, but just to tell you that Siliguri is one of the worst places in India with corrupted police force as well. I am a foreigner myself and what we have experienced with my Indian husband in Siliguri I have not experienced even in Bihar, so that's that. Horrible mixture of Pahari, Nepalese and Bengali people. They are capable to beat a person without a reason and insult strangers in their face just for passing them on the street. Horrendous place.

My aunt got her identity stolen and we have no contact with her at all anymore because the scammers or whatever would constantly harass her with calls and mails. She's scared to leave her home to get help. Texas sucks when it comes for help honestly. I absolutely despise these kinds of scammers, I hope they all rot in hell.
