This is why Michelle Pfeiffer is the best part of the series. She's incredible as Betty Ford. Wish the season was only centered on her, or it would have been better if it was a full length movie. Gillian Anderson's performance was solid. Viola Davis was an embarrassment.

I didnt even know there was a series out about Betty Ford but i always admired her from afar as a kind of bad ass rebel within the Republican elite whom deserves more respect for what she has done as 1st lady when she was drunk & forward she has done no wrong & i find it rather despicable how Republicans today have basically shunned her out from their own history because she dared form different opinions, dared to be a moderate when inside Barry Goldwater & his goonies were turning the party ever more to the extreme right forcing their own out. This clip literally made me cry & thats not an easy thing to do nor admit. That woman certainly went through pain & is so deserving as probably the most influential first lady who single handedly changed America more in her short reign than most Presidents have or that Congress has in the past 40 years for that matter. Watching this is definitely on my to do list.

I once read that when her family tried to take all Betty Fords alcohol away from her she tried to drink rubbing alcohol luckily I think they took that away too but she was in to the addiction pretty freaking deep. 😳
