The actual reason to why Katara turned Aang down was cause she knew it wasn't the right time. Sozin's comet was about 3 days away and the Firelord was going to go along with his plan. Nobody was strong enough to stop Ozai BUT Aang. And in order to accomplish this, Aang needed to practice and focus on his plan to defeat him, romance would've just got in the way.

10:00 I'm a theater person too and I love all those details put into this episode. For example, actor Aang peeking out the corner of her eye to catch Azula's "lightning." So awesome! 12:31 There's a very brief moment when Aang and Zuko are surrounded by the dragon fire where Zuko's scar was accidentally drawn on the wrong side. Some very sharp eyed viewers caught it and the writers included a joke about. 18:28 Yeah, the first time and everytime I watch it the dread of the end always comes. Weirdly, though, that's actually part of the charm of ATLA. It tells the story it set out to tell and then ends before over-staying its welcome. Excited for the finale!!!!!

Hey @ShredderFTW of course this episode hit hard for the Kataang but I think we got to see the little details here. First is that when Aang asks her if she really watch him just like a little brother she told him that it was an actor who told that not her ( she could easily told him that too there and kill everything right there but she didnt because she knows that he's not a little brother to her ) 2. She never said no to the idea of them been together when Aang point that with what he thought would happen after the kiss before the Invasion, she told him that it wasnt the right time ( and of course it isnt with a war going and Aang still mastering the bendings ) but here Aang didnt understood that and he's lack of knowing how relationships works ( cant blame him he's a 13 year old kid who grew up with monks ) make it feel more like a no to him. 3.Katara isnt confused about if she loves him or not, of course she loves him the same way but her confusion is about what would happen if Aang die against the Fire Lord when the time comes and what would that do to her, she already lost her mother, saw Aang die in Ba Sing Se and now there's no Spirit Water to save him again. She's trying to protect her heart for the worst outcome possible and she thinks that the best way is keeping in friends only ( yeah it sounds a little selfish, but she's a 14 year old girl fighting in a war and the guy she loves got the fate of the world in his hands, that could scare anyone ). 4.Of course the kiss is awful, but i dont think Aang did it with a bad intention, he just wanted to show her what he feels is real and not a silly crush or something like that ( again let's remember that Aang is 13 year old and this is the only girl that he has ever felt this way in his long but short life, and when it comes to love it always make you dumb and do things that later you realize were wrong or silly ). Katara felt like he wasnt respecting her feelings right now and got all the right to get mad the way she did, Aang inmediatly after she left accepts his own mistake and show regret because that was the last thing he wanted to happen when he kissed her, but also it make him think that the play wasnt really wrong after all. During the rest of the play you can see Katara just as sad as Aang was showing that she didnt want things to go the way it did too. So in a little way it can give hope for Kataang during this finale. I cant wait for you to react the last episodes, i had follow you since the start and its crazy to think that you are getting there already. Pura Vida from Costa Rica👌

That ending of the play is so amazingly done. After all the relatively lighthearted stuff, the Gaang is faced head-on with the very real possibility of defeat. Combine that with all the fire nation people applauding at what they consider a happy end and this amazing parody of the show ends on a surprisingly dark note, which is obviously amplified by the score.

The reason why Katara kissed Aang before he left to fight the firelord is because she's already inloved with him. She thought that the war will finally end after that invasion and if that really happened then their relationship will finally blossom. But because the invasion failed, Katara's priority is still on the war and her feelings for Aang must be on hold.

aight this os gonna sound like a weird thing to focun on but did you notice Aang's actress while on her "avatar state" actually slightly opened her eyes to catch the ribbon from Azula's lightning? that's just...insane attention to detail. They could have just not done that and nobody would notice that, it's just extra frames, but they still went out of their way for that added bit of detail.

This episode was basically one big fun recap, making fun of themselves, some of the episodes like The Great Divide, and even having some light fun with the fans and answering some trending questions , like the fans who shipped Zuko and Katara, and those who keep asking about Jet (which only left more questions than answers), and even when apparently there was an episode or a moment, when Zuko's scar was on the wrong side of his face lol.

Hidden lore. Love among the dragons was zukos mothers favourite play. One of them masks was actually the mask of the blue spirit. Zukos mother was a lead actress who was doing that play when the old firelord azlon came to find her

Why would that be the end of kataang? Honestly that was a good choice by katara. The closer they get the more distracted aang is gonna be and the more katara wouldve lost if aang failed so to stay focused on the Mission they just wait a few days. And since aang didnt really understand the importance of that, katara had to tell it.

for the longest time I thought the scar being on the wrong side of Zuko was just a joke, but it was also the writers taking jab at themselves, as in the episode 'The Firebending Masters', when the dragons first shoot the fire, there is a couple frames where Zuko's scar was on his right eye instead of left eye.

paula idky either. Probably because the show was at its slowest but only to get everyone used to each character and there ideals. To establish connections. Today’s society is so focused on getting straight to the point I feel, and this show isn’t that, we are in a more impatient society. I love how the show takes it times to establish things and for charters to develop and to get a better overall story. If it wasn’t for every episode literally in this series, the show wouldn’t connect at all. I love how all the episodes really connect with each other, until the season 3 end. Season one just set the layout ya know.
