Came here to say I just watched this ep. and Ted McGinley maybe just pulled out my favourite performance of the show so far. The instant switch from easy-going, to vulnerable and confused was insane. Just watching this clip again I'm teary eyed.

Derek/the actor who plays Derek, gives us all hope that we can be as clear with ourselves as we are about others when it gets really really hard. Kudos to the actors and the writers and the director. Brilliant, true work

She met with a male friend/ old flame....derek asked her not to see him as he knew the guy still had feelings for Liz. She bumps into the guy again, who tells her he has displayed her photography in his new bar and in the moment he kisses her.
