How bad is NO MINI-TURBO in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

how important is the mini turbo (drift boost) stat? it's very difficult to do advanced techniques with the minimum mini-turbo stat.

I always love seeing heavy combo's. Mainly cause of the combebacks that the high speed stat offers. Keep doing you Shortcat. I may not play Mario Kart but it's always a blast watching you with your positive attitude. Speaking of Heavy combo's any chance I can convince you to run: Dry Bowser+ Cat Cruiser + GLA Tires + Wario Wing I like to think that this combo is good enough to challenge the Meta with its passable accelarion and high speed, weight and invincibility. Its honestly a bit more of a balanced combo than anything.

Thank you so much!! And that is a great combo! If I counted right, that should be 11 mini turbo which is a bit low for my liking, and makes some strategies harder. But the comeback potential is huge with 15 speed. I've thought about doing a viewer combo video in the future! We'll see

@@Shortcat321 Well it was designed for Bagcat. I made sure to watch your tutorial on how to build a good cart combo. One thing that the biggest requirement for the combo to make the cut was that the acceleration stat was at least 10 in order to avoid the biggest downfall of high speed combo's. I dare say this might be the new best bagging combo.

Good races! It's Funky vs. an army of Yoshis! I remember back in the original Mario Kart 8 Wii U where, as I recall, the meta was all about speed. P-Wing, B-Dasher, and Circuit Special were actually viable as were the Slick/Cyber Slick tires. I think Morton/Blue Falcon/Slick Tires was one of the meta builds way back then. Man, how the times have changed. I still like the P-Wing/B-Dasher/Circuit Special even in 8 Deluxe just for the fact that they are awesome-looking vehicles!

This is a milestone for many people and I think you, Shortcat, are the perfect person to redeem this milestone. Firstly I would like to thank you for creating such content. I am a new mariokart player and I love this game. You are also so calming, that I subscribed! Now up to the built up request that has been unforeseeable to come. If you can make a video about "playing every mariokart game" or similar, I would be very pleased, I find this because I also play mariokart ds and back then it was soo hard to be good. You had to constantly snake. And manually charge up a drift. I think this video would be very rewarding for the channel! If your wondering, playing these games can be done with an actual system, or my recommended option, an emulator. Emulators are simple softwares that "emulate" games. The best thing is that you can easily record and even use your same controller! Lastly I would like to conclude this by stating, that even if you ignore this please know that you have a fan forever :) edit: if this somehow blows up does anyone know any mariokart ds youtubers that i could watch?!

Tried this exact combo today when playing with the wife. It is painful to play, yet manageable. Like baby Daisy on Tanooki Kart with Metal Tires and Bowser Kite. Piranha Petey on Badwagon with Monster Tires and Waddle, on the other hand, is unplayable as you can't see your way.

Video Idea: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but I only take the slowest routes in the race. You can take optimal lines around corners, but for example in sunshine airport, you take the boost through the plane instead of dropping below it. I think you're good enough to still win :)
