Depends what you want. Pretty good competitive cards if you’re a dark player. Fun to play with too. Maybe not the prettiest cards, but some cool ones.

Congrats on the Persian. I have not gotten the ETB yet (US) but i did get 2x Cufant special art from a couple Greninja Ex Box. Pull Rates are brutal for this set. I agree that this may be a dark horse set in coming years.

My husband and I bought two boxes of Shrouded Fable and the only pull to note was a Pecharunt EX SIR. We're sticking to buying singles from this set. Would've also loved to pull the Houndoom, Persian, and the Duskull evolution.

I don't think Shrouded Fable is as bad a people make out. Obviously it won't be one of the most popular sets in the future, but it does have it's charm with the Loyal 3 and some great IRs.

Wow yea these pulls are brutal man, definitely just getting the promos and maybe an IR or two but with retail increase and these pull rates is really driving people away from opening packs. Pokemon should consider changing this up a bit. IMO

I just pulled that Houdoom card in my first and only ETB (so far) a week ago. Full on “Last Pack Mojo”. It’s in a mag case now. I just love the artwork on it. I also hit a Cassiopa illustration but not the chase one. She’s still a beautiful card

I managed to buy the Houndoom as a single card off a seller via eBay before it started getting it crazy expensive or was being sold graded. As for Shrouded Fable, the only other thing I bought was a booster pack to keep sealed as part of my booster pack collection. I like collecting them as a time capsule/nostalgic thing more than anything.

It's those sensational Greninja and Kingdra promo cards that are causing Shrouded Fable to sell out, at least in my area. ETBs arent out yet. I'm having a hard time feeling as excited about this one though, a lot of the common arts in something like TM makes me stop and admire the card, I did not have that experience opening up the Kingambit set though. I do love the colour scheme though, as you mentioned how striking it is. I do really like the Bewear and Houndoom IR though.

I appreciate the MK "BRUTALITY" nod! Now is it just me or did the artist sneak Giovanni (or the idea of him) into the Persian art? If you look at the dark area between Persian and his reflection, it looks to me like a silhouetted Giovanni with his arms folded. And Persian's whiskers could be a way of denoting the high collar Gio has. With it clearly being the same scene as the 151 card, I do think this is a little further nod to the connection. Curious what people make of it :)

I thought paradox rift was bad holy hell Shrouded fable easily the worst set since the black and white era. Zero booster boxes, the new mons all are ugly with bad colors ( blacks with neon pink and green like why? ) on top of terrible cringey names, so of course this set wouldn’t do well. Seems to be a pattern with the Pokemon company. They will make great sets with strong design then they will release a dud as if it’s intentional to give their developers a break.
