@@colourcrayon I think in the past I've been a bit guilty of thinking "they're just goldfish" about the breed, but your channel shows how wrong that way of thinking is. It's really cool what you're doing with your breeding program, it makes me see goldfish in a completely different light. Thanks again

Wonderful fish and tank. Just wondering how any water changes you do and what filter system you have, to keep your fish looking so good and healthy. Great video's and thank you.
@colourcrayon3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken, in this tank I do one water change a week about 30%. I have a small sponge filter and a small hang on the back filter. Overall not much filtration. Hope this helps and good luck with your fish!!😃👍🎏

Do you have a pond that these guys go into, Joey? Or do you have enough tanks to disperse them a bit as they get bigger? They should end up being gorgeous if the parents are any indication.
@colourcrayon3 жыл бұрын
I have lots of tanks. In fact I’ve already split them into three groups. I’m hoping for some really nice ones to develop!! Thanks for your support!!😃🎏
@TheOfficialSteelReign3 жыл бұрын
@@colourcrayon Absolutely. I figured that was what you were going to do. I seem to recall you saying you had quite a few tanks up and running. For the first time since putting it in, I had goldfish survive the winter (Chicago area) and I was just curious if the non-show stock might go into a pond on your end as well. I can't wait to see what those fish turn into for you.
@colourcrayon3 жыл бұрын
That’s so cool I’m glad the pond is working out for you!! It’s always fun seeing what develops from a spawn. Good luck with all of your projects!😃🎏💚

Wowww amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing each moment they grow! I am waiting for my shubinkin fries to come out of the egg! Your video helped me alot! How often do you change the water?
@colourcrayon3 жыл бұрын
Oh I’m so glad you liked my video and that it helped you. I don’t have a specific method or routine for water changes. I would think you would want to do a partial water at least a couple times a week. By now your fry must have hatched out. Good luck and have fun with them!!😃👍🎏

@@colourcrayon Thank you! All my fries are healthy and two weeks old now!!

Aww they are soo cute! Love seeing the progress videos! Do you ever when breeding (non breeder newbie here lol), just put one male and one female together and have different seperate batches of fry? So you know who the parents are and if they are pure comet or pure Shubunkin etc.?
@colourcrayon3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alisha, yes I have done it both ways. In my case though I have spent my life breeding registered animals. So everything is very specific in your choices. I just wanted to have fun with this! 😃 So I’m more concerned with color, fins and body conformation. I keep and breed the fish that I like!!That’s really all I’m doing. In the end they’re all single tail goldfish. I hope you’re keeping goldfish!! Thanks for your support. I just posted another video last night. Take care, Joey😃👍🎏💚

@@colourcrayon I completely understand, I have horses too! Live in Sydney Australia and have warmblood dressage horses, a Hanoverian designer foal I created and paid to use the mother who is now a 3.5 year old stallion and an Australian Warmblood mare who is 12. I am 24 and had goldfish, a few types as a kid and teenager but want to actually "get into them" now and learn a lot. Plan on getting some Shubunkins (American/Japanese type) and maybe breed :)
@huntspremierpersianibex70243 жыл бұрын
Could I ask where you initially got your Shubunkin breeding stock? Very nice fish.
@colourcrayon3 жыл бұрын
Hi, some of my original stock was purchased at pet stores. I also bought some from Dandy Orandas. I keep an eye out for something different that strikes me. Eventually I will start to market them. Good luck with your projects!😃👍🎏
