Shug it’s been many years since I camped in the woods, over 20. 1997 in fact was the last time on the AT. Kids, traveling for work etc...have kept me away, man I have missed it. Last week I went out with the tent in the woods. I forgot how many noises are in the forest at night! More importantly, I forgot how much I miss it and enjoy the time alone. Another thing, I realize especially watching your videos is setting up camp with a hammock and sleeping in a hammock is the way to go. I’m off this weekend with the hammock for round #2. Keep doing what you do! You’re an inspiration!!

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your trips with us, seeing some early summer SNF footage helps me get through the long Minneapolis winters. We just got out of the BWCA on 6/28/2016 and we had a great trip but the weather was very severe and left to head up there just after hearing about this poor guy and his kid. Before hanging my hammock I spent a lot of time looking at trees for anything that could come down my way but sometimes you never can tell.
