Especially when you've, fought to overcome spiteful things done by people. Overcame numerous amounts of statics and labels, given by society. Earned the right to work for yourself instead of a 9 to 5. (Nothing wrong with it) but to be granted a joyful opportunity of living out your dreams. And building your OWN. It's truly an honor😌 it just makes you want to keep going, striving for more achievements. Until you get everything you want outta life😊❤. This includes becoming a more, lean, fit, healthier, sculpted, wiser, version of the old self. ( MY current state of mind,) aaand....action😉!🎬🎥.

Do we think that it's an age thing ? I have always been financially independent, with or without a partner. It would never occur to me to ask a man to pay for anything! It's of course lovely, when they take me out to dinner. But I would do the same for him. Perhaps if women have seen their mothers get away with this behavior, then it becomes their expectation too. We are also very commercialized these days. Young people don't want to struggle or save up for anything. When my parents got married, they had a cheap 2nd hand settee and a rubbish car, but it was fine. They saved hard, didn't waste money and were able to buy a lovely 3 bedroomed house with a huge garden and some land. It seems that nobody is prepared for deferred gratification. They think that designer trainers, designer jeans and gold chains and a flashy car make them important. Others just want what they see others with. So much peer pressure, and no values. They have got it all backwards when they haven't got a pot to piss in !

@Medusa13579 At first, I thought it was an age thing, but there are women of all ages who sadly think this way. We just see the younger women more. Plus, the younger ones learned it from some lazy/entitled older woman & made it a bigger "show"

I actually viewed the whole conversation Ms.Ma'am was talking about, and from what I gathered...she wasn't saying no one, no man owes her anything. She was basically saying how the government assistance gives just a little to keep some folks stuck. Meaning like, the assistance that some people partake in won't allow them to elevate into something greater for themselves. And then, she brought up a particular boyfriend she used to date that would only give her just enough to pay the bills and the rent and she felt like he was only doing that so that she can keep coming back to him for help. She figured that was his motive to keep her, because she was ready to leave the relationship. She said she finally did, and was much better off. IDK...her words, not mines

What’s sad is that people do not understand what they are doing when it comes to relationships. Just because two people lay together does not make a marital commitment. You become “one” when you are MARRIED and then you are obligated to each other to discuss the income and how we are going to get our house. The man doesn’t owe you anything when you are not married! The same with the other side.. if you have not committed yourself to engagement or are not married to that woman.. then she does not have to be available to you 24/7. Bed time, your laundry, hot breakfast every morning, etc. No ring.. you have no right to expect all of that from a woman that you have not committed your life to. If yall are not married and you are on the 50/50 plan.. Then you know what… you get a half azz relationship, because really you’re just roommates. If he or she want to go out on a date with someone else.. you really have no right to say anything. That person does not belong to you unless you are married!❤

No one is anything to anyone unless all parties agree to work in unison with one another and there is mutual respect, understanding, and love. My birth mother (married over 6 times) has 6 kids with 6 different dudes. One sibling of mine just did a DNA test and found out that "his" father isn't even his at the age of 33. People can switch up and any time. People get so hooked on titles without even putting in the work and that's part of the reason so many people are with the wrong people.

It's 2024. Full grown adults are responsible for their own lifestyles no matter which of the 50 different genders they claim. And a person showing romantic interest in you is not them signing up to be your sponsor, foster parent, legal guardian, etc. If they want to do that, then fine. But you're GROWN. No one else is responsible for you. Or your kids for that matter (outside of the other parent).

Pay yourself First is what my MAMA used to say. Meaning work hard , learn financial literacy, and pay for your necessities, and when you have your emergency fund saved, then you can get some of your wants. Give and share with others, and your life will always have abundance.

Same thing goes for those who complain that their job/boss doesn’t pay them enough. If you want more then upgrade your skills or education.
