He really didn’t use to proper way of installing mods on curseforge should have clicked on the puzzle piece and it would only show mods that can be installed to that version of Minecraft and mod loader

You can also use feather client. Its very easy to install and you can easily switch mods on/off without having to go to the sites and stuff.

Forget using a paid subscription when you can look up a quick tutorial about hosting your own server. It's easier than you think. Only, if you have a potato for a pc then I would recommend a hosting service. Although, you also don't need a very expensive pc either. I use a Reatan Mini Pc. My modpack has just over 500 mods and runs smoothly. PC Specs... Windows 11 AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.30 GHz, 16GB Ram, 500G HD. I do recommend a VPN though. Hosting your own Minecraft server can leave you vulnerable to hackers if not using a VPN since you have to allow Minecraft through your Firewall.

The Modrinth Launcher not beeing part of the video is the biggest crime i've ever seen. You literally click on your verison, if you want Fabric or Forge or whatever and just install the mods you want without needing to search for versions and stuff. It has a built in Log Reader and everything for your game is customizable. And the best part is: The mod creators actually get something for publishing the mods on Modrinth, unlike CurseForge. Lets be honest: Who actually installs mods in the official Launcher anymore?

Modrinth App has two serious flaws that really annoy me: 1. you can't easily update mods from curseforge without downloading them and putting them in the mods folder 2. the application does not remember sorting settings in "add content" tab and each enter to this tab requires setting everything again

Just is the availability of some mods but yes you can do all of the same thing on both but recommend modrinth because of the bloated curseforge and sodium is no longer updated on curseforge
