Shu, what is the definition of Akiya? Cheap house or 2nd hand house for sale?

Bro, you are in top shape, and you were breathing hard at the first house! I'd be fainting trying to climb up that hill! 😂

Definitely the second house if I could get inside. Those stairs and having to get permission from the neighbor to renovate the house would be a deal killer for me, especially as a foreigner.

I totally want one. I lived in Japan in the late 90's. I love Japan. I lived near Dotonbori bridge then, but I love Yokohama., Tokyo is a little too busy for me. Best Chinatown ever in Yokohama! I need to study my Japanese though. I was conversational but I haven;t practiced much in the last 20 years.

Im wondering why Akiyas are now quite expensive. Before they were for free practically

I am more interested in the 2nd one. Because it seems more accessible with car or scooter.

@@shumatsuopost Also the connection with the private garden and thru it seems some view. My imagination( we don't know because there's no pictures ) in the inside/ outside/ intermediate connection is better XD

The first house looks more appealing to me! I am curious, for those who buy their homes as 'vacation' instead of future 'rental,' what is available to manage the property when the owners are out of the country for an extended time frame?

There is a property management service for that as well. If you are interested in getting the terraced house, I can help. Let me know 😊

eh, these houses are kinda lame/bland, i mean you may want them for rentals but I'm not really interested in that at the moment....have you ever looked into how much a new construction vs renovation would cost? I'd imagine it's more, but how much more? I am still interested in akiya though, it's just that I like a more interesting look, something unique or additional land/workshop/garage I know it's rare but exists.

Wondering, is it common that the purchase of a house includes the land or is that unusual? And who typically owns the land?
@mtwhatley3253
@mtwhatley3253 6 ай бұрын
If you search the websites athomejapan or suumo, check the description and it will say land rights. Most of them says ownership, but occasionally it will be leased land. Then you have to find duration. I’ve seen 30 years from build date often on the leased side.

Both houses are too inaccessible for my taste. I want a farm house with some land and good car parking space. That way, I can let builders and craftsmen park on my property. That would be more convenient for me.
