Naming system of Myanmar railway locomotive. DF1324, "D" stands for Diesel-Electric type locomotive. Traction motors between the axles are driven by electricity which is generated by Diesel engine onboard. "F" stands for total of "six" driving axles (this model has 2 bogies - each has 3 driving axles - depends on the maker). "1324" means its Diesel engine has 1300HP and the last two digits, "24" tells that the serial number of this locomotive under 1300HP-6 driving axles series. Just for your information.
