@@TyinAlaska Alec is okay, he's nothing special, anyone with his background aka overly privileged family with virtually unlimited resources has the potential to be just that. It's not like he has to work hard to make a name for himself. When you start as a Smith with few tools and build up your tools as a career unfolds, fair play, I'll respect someone like that. But when everything is handed to you on a plate.....yeah, no respect earned/given.

Shona O'Neill that’s ridiculous he’s an incredibly experienced Smith for his age he has taught classes since he was 16 and been round the world and learnt under many Experienced smiths such as Brian brazeal. He is a bit of a maniac but to say he’s an average Smith is ridiculous. And to say he had his tools handed to him is not correct he did commission work for years off camera and taught numerous classes to afford his machinery. Give him credit for what he deserves.

@@bonerDB you can make some very nice handle scales, bolsters, backspacers etc from timascus. For blades, the only real useful application of titanium I know of, is as a dull grey anti reflective coating on tacticals. I happen to own one that was made by Hill Knives Holland for the Dutch Korps Commando Troepen and has a dull grey Ti coating on an ATS34 blade. Although titanium in its annealed state is a lot harder compared to annealed steel, it doesn't take as well to heat treating, making it pretty useless as a stand alone blade material.

@@dustinsmith2021 if you were in your country, you would be listened to, you could send a letter to the official website of the program or channel. the whole world loves the show, why can't the whole world participate in it?

@@dustinsmith2021 I think it would still be pretty fair. This guy has a lot of specialized gear at his forge which helps him a lot. In Forged in Fire you have to use their gear in rather non ideal situations and make a knife in only 3 hours. I am sure he will do well, but the conditions of the show are a great equalizer. Especially when they mix it up and bring in coal forges.
