I have this Microphone are you using a cloud lifter as well? Because my voice doesn’t sound as rich

I record straight from the Mic via usb to my iPad or Mac. I also use some of the internal DSP to limit it’s sensitivity to other sounds. I also process my voice (compression, eq) in the editing / mixing stage of my video production.

Is works as a usb audio in. The shire app does not have access to the microphone psd control using USB c. I’m guessing it will be updated. Right now I’m recording on my iPad M1 but did have to set the microphone dsp using my MAC or iphone.

Another awesome video! The combined USB and XLR makes it super versatile. For iPad and mobile I’ve been happy with my Rode NT-USB Mini ($129). I like the broadcast EQ and overall sound, but it’s the included Rode Connect software that impressed me most. Unfortunately, Rode Connect is for MacOS and not available for iOS. Does the Shure MV7 have mixer/recording software for iOS?

Is does not include a recording app (at least I don’t remember one) but the software interface that controls the internal sap of the mic is MAC, Windows and iOS . It’s a set and forget. The mic remembers the last settings.

Do I necessarily need to use the headphones if I just want to use the mic to stream live on Facebook?

Not really. Is use headphone for two reasons: 1 - to check the quality on the sound picked up by the mic. 2- to listen to the music demo I’m doing while the music does not get recorded by the mic at the same time as my voice. Easier to mix after the fact. But for live stream, I would just check with headphones the audio quality before going live.

2 options: use the provided cables with an adapter or use a mini usb to usb c cable. The audio interface of the microphone will work natively with the iPad. But if have an M1 iPad, the DSP controls in the Shure app will not work. (The dsp works in the mic) the app cannot change the internal parameters (compressor, low cut) of the mic. You have to set it up with another device (iPhone or computer).

I usually use it in my studio with the iPhone powered. I would still recommend to bring an iPhone battery charger.

I’m using mine with an iPad people complain my sound pops sometimes on live streams. How can I fix this issue?

It could be pops from audio peaks. Maybe have a compressor or limiter in your audio chain?

@@Nu-trix I don’t have compressor or limiter. I have it plugged directly through the usb-c. I originally was using a blue yeti and had the same problem so I figured the mics are good. Definitely something else. Ill look into those items.

Maybe it’s a sample rate problem. Check that you have the same sample rate all across the apps (Shure and the streaming apps) Always 48kHz or always 44,1kHz

The compatibility list on shures site says it doesn't work with ipad pro directly? Does it or no??

It does appear as a audio input and it works. But the shure app does not work properly to get access to the internal DSP function of the microphone. At least for now. I’m guessing they are working on an update for it.

The microphone is micro USB and the iPad is USB C.

You just need an adaptor for iPad that has a USB and a charging connector. Same logic, look for an adapter with the right connector for your iPad that offers a usb c (for charging) and a USB for any device.
