Thanks for taking the time to make this video. The use case makes total sense for a professional who wants to bring out the best audio quality for his meetings. Question about lip sync: how big of a deal is it that the camera and mic are not coupled for a Zoom call?

I use the Fujifilm XA7 as a webcam for lessons in zoom. The quality is excellent. But! Only with the XC lens is 35 mm)))

I just got this mic, and I don’t know if it was a firmware update, but regarding your con about the levels of yourself and the mix, there are two parts to this. Pressing and holding the mic/headphone button accesses the “mix” mode to find the right balance between you and the overall mix. Then tap to get back to the headphone level option to increase/decrease overall volume so that you can hear everything as loud or quiet as you want

When you position the microphone, is it off to the side and are you speaking straight ahead of the webcam for your zoom calls and will it pick it up just fine? Thanks!

Are you able to move the microphone out of the frame and get the same quality? It looked like when you even turned your head to face the screen the audio dropped a large amount. For video calls, the goal is to have a hidden microphone, right? We don't want to look like we're podcasters.

What's your experience of Yeti vs Mv7 regarding the sound quality?

Besides adding the app to the laptop, is anything else needed for this mic to work? Every time I want to use zoom, I open the app and then open zoom? And then go into my audio setting to make sure my mic is the MV7? Second, if I'm not using headphones but my computer speakers to hear the opposite side(folks in zoom), will the mic pick up the audio from the computer speaker?

Thanks for the review. I know it's a dynamic but are you able to have the mic outside of the webcams view and still get a usable signal (maybe on a boom)? So people don't see the mic.

All reviews of mics should include a demo of the mic outside the webcam view, but almost none do!

So I know I'm replying really late to this and they don't show this in the video, but the free software by Shure includes something called Auto Level Mode, which you can set to Near (1-6 inches away from mic) or Far (6-18 inches from mic). There are a couple of other videos which demonstrate this and it's pretty neat.

Thanks for the video. I have question - i am starting out with my podcast and video interviews journey? Do you think this would be a good mic ? My concern is two folds : 1) is it a good mic to start, or am i overspending ? 2) If i do videos on it, do i have to be too close to the mic or a 12-18 inch away would work?. Thanks in advance.

Just disable the ERP in your PC´s UEFI! Then the USB Ports are OFF , when the PC is off.. :)

why on earth would you spend 250 bucks on a microphone for ZOOM! I mean like if ur doing a podcast, recording music or singing then it makes sense but the soul fact that you just spent a bunch of money on a microphone that you don't even need. if I were you I would get the TONOR Q9 microphone for podcasting, nothing for zoom, I mean as long as people understand what you are saying then it is okay, you don't need to sound like ur in a studio. you could have saved about 200 bucks for something more important like aa holiday or a better laptop! even though you didn't get laptops and holidays for 200 bucks you could save up

I got this mic mainly for zoom too. I’m a video conferencing engineer and I get to test mics and headsets all the time. The gear I test for our employees often costs as much as this mic does and the mics sound squelchy and high pitched. Why not get a mic that makes you sound and feel like a radio dj if you can afford it?

@@Building8Media not really. We’ve been getting speaker phones to try out. The Poly Sync is has got a great speaker on it. It’s really hard to enjoy a speaker phone mic when you’ve been using a shure though.
