Keep these play along roll n write games coming, I am loving it.

Minor mistake due to Matt's phrasing: you score negative point for each empty tile next to a monster, NOT for each empty edge of a monster. Matt scored his own properly, but the others didn't
@jonassthr283 Жыл бұрын
Wait so does that mean Tom would have gotten even more points?

This stream was a lot of fun! Looking forward to more roll-n-write streams in the future, even after Shut Up and Stay Inside is over! For anyone wanting to play along, the solo rule for monsters isn't explained quite right, you start in the far corner indicated on the card then going in the direction shown on the card (counter-/clockwise) you have to place the shape as shown on the card (no flipping/rotating) in the first space you can draw it, if you can't then you go one space in towards the center and try again, repeating this until you find a space or find you can't draw it.

I felt proud of my score until I heard what chat was getting. Still...I got an alright score and the points went up each round at least. 67 points (11+14+15+27). Pretty fun game. Really enjoyed playing along with you guys.

I looked up the rules because I was curious if I only needed to put the monster tiles partially in the quadrant, but it turns out the way to do monsters is COMPLETELY different than how I was doing it. I just assumed it had to be anywhere within the quadrant, which made it sort of favorable, as I could just place the monster around a mountain to rack up coins early, but the actual ruling is a lot different and more automated in placing the monster for you, so I suspect that's where a lot of chat also went wrong and why so many people had insane scores by the end, including myself. Although, I did get to max out my coins, so I'm fine with having played incorrectly for a round. It was fun! Thanks for the VOD.

Yes I did the same, placing your own monsters is very good compared to having someone actively try to make it bad for you.

(+17) 31 after fall, but really low Spring (4), better Summer (+10). Planned ahead for those, Winter with the housing points will be gonzo....got lucky on the goblin, I don't have any 3-space diagonal in that orientation (was choosing the big pieces most of the time early, then started focusing on creating surrounded empty spaces and surrounded forests)... Winter gave 30 pts for a total of 61

Final score of 72 points. Gotta say placing your own monster does kind of give you an advantage since even tho placing them in a specific quadrant i placed them optimally.

Excellent stream! I love Cartographers, and the idea of playing along at home is very fun. I scored 102 points on a normal map (with no hole). I'm sure it would have been a lot worse if someone else had place the ambushes.

Impressive mousing, Matt. Seriously, we struggled so much doing the virtual tabletop playing (for example, I drew the entire draw deck into my hand instead of just one card, sigh).

everyone gunna say imma lier but i scored 82! I got super lucky with the river and farm combos early on and forced the last ruin to be a connecting house for 2 4 people villages! What a fun game

I got 86 (15+23+16+32). It would have been slightly more, but as Slava Rybka pointed out, Matt gave to incorrect monster penalty rules. It's a lot easier for solo players, since they can place their monsters advantageously, instead of maliciously. I used Tabletopia to play. It's basically a more polished TTS, and also free to play.

got 73 as well, just gotta realize it's much more valuable usually to mitigate a monster than complete a mountain. Matt's 47 with hardcore map was pretty good though

A year later, literally had forgotten I'd watched this before until I scrolled down to post my results only to see I'd done it before, and I'm proud to announce- 91 points! So... apparently I got better? Even though I definitely made some huge errors in judgement, like with my villages, but alas- even then I scored fairly well!
