genuinely really interesting observation quinns makes about grids and hexes. Maybe to effectively design around the 6-way adjacency you need to make systems that would become too complex to be enjoyable on large grids, so you always end up travelling shorter distances on hex grids than you might on square grids.

Can’t recommend this game enough. I’m all in on the Kickstarter for the most I’ve ever pledged on any board game. Just so much stuff included with insane variability. I’m not even huge on the theme or art but the gameplay is so smooth (not at all evident in this playthrough, lol) and quick to setup and play. Passed on some other “untested” games on KS this fall for this, which has proven through lots of actual player reviews and recommendations to be worth the money.

Scott Gregson It's currently available on Kickstarter and the price tag for the original set (which you can get through the campaign for the Aftershock expansion) includes all stretch goals from *both* campaigns, which is a ton of content. Costs a little more than your average game, but you get 4 boxes for that price (core game, first expansion, first KS stretch goals, and second KS stretch goals). And the second KS stretch goals have already unlocked 31 more items... several entire enemy factions, new stages, campaign stories, and 4 more playable fighters (so far). It's a lot of value for the price.
