I live in a rural location and a neighbour has two donkeys in a small field close by. Most days I bring them carrots and apples and one of them greets me with the loudest bray ever. It's one of the brighest moments of my day and they've become my favourite animals.

@@markedwards3312 pillowcase thing on head? It's common to put fly masks (devices to protect animal heads from flies) on horses & donkeys. Doesn't interfere with their vision. You can see straight through. Sort of like lingerie that women wear.

My folks got a crossbreed pup who grew to be the best dog I've ever known. VERY quiet. One day when he was a year old, he was sitting on the ottoman up against the wall under the picture window with his chin resting on the sill just zoning on the beauty of the summer day outside. I was looking at him sitting there when suddenly he rose up on his back legs with his front legs up on the window sill looking a bit to his left and...Barked! Just once. He shook his head as if his ears hurt, looked over his shoulder at me, and gave me a look I just knew meant, "What the h..l was that racket?" He turned back to the windows, paused and woofed again. Shook again and gave me that same look. I roared with laughter. He had discovered his bark! He was telling us the mailman had just walked up the front sidewalk. In fourteen years that sweet boy never overused his bark, and watched over my folks steadfastly.

Suggestion: the music and the loud narration bury this video in noise and don’t let the viewer really enjoy the donkey’s voice. Lower or eliminate the music and make pauses in the story so we can really hear what this cute, lovely animal wants to say 🥰

What a sweetheart he is, I think what he is looking for is attention, donkeys need another donkey, mainly when there is horses around, usually donkeys & horses don't get along, they will tolerate each other, but that's about it. donkeys are inexpensive, get him a buddy.

Adopting older animals is such a heart-warming experience. They are wise enough to see that you are there for and want them. It may take a time for them to understand, or they may immediately see that you are trustworthy, but either way, they will reward you in return. Animals are far smarter than given credit for. Take care of yourselves, and take care of those who love you.
