Thanks Geoff for having me in this project. I am totally speechless when i listened to the final production. In 2022 somewhen in December was when I was recorded. This is by far one of the best production in my life. Hope you enjoy and search for more Thai tradition, or classical music. I will be more than happy to share the sounds of Thailand or in this case Siam. Go get the game now. Chamni Sripraram (Thai music professor at NIU)

Fun Fact: Both african christian(Ethiopia) and white elephant(Siam) Never fell under the influence of british empire and France empire in the slightest
@andrewklang80911 күн бұрын
Ehhh...they kinda did. And you could say the same thing about Iran. No one in the world got away from Western imperialism entirely. Ethiopia was conquered by Italy in 1935-6 and it required British assistance to kick them out (and then it took US pressure to get the British to leave Ethiopia afterwards). Thailand was never conquered outright by the British or French, but each took bites out of Siam's empire. Siam only survived by playing the two off of each other; they didn't have the means to actually fight them. Burma and Vietnam learned that. Ultimately, both Britain and France were more interested in preventing the other from taking over Siam than they were in trying to take over themselves. They did carve their own lands out of Siam that are today part of Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia. And then Japan forced Thailand to bend the knee during WW2, but the war ended before the Allies invaded Thailand itself, so they escaped that war pretty easily (though they did have to return the lands they took from French Indochina). Iran resisted the USSR and UK in 1941 and got crushed, partly due to how unpopular the regime was domestically. Stalin almost carved out his own puppet state in the north, but the US and UK made it clear they wouldn't let him. Sometimes you have to bend in the face of irresistible pressure. Siam/Thailand did better than anyone else. EDIT: Oh, I forgot one country that did successfully resist: The Republic of Turkey. It cost them their empire, but they held on to their core lands. And I guess Afghanistan has kept up its long winning streak, but it's always pretty messy for them. They get occupied every now and then, just never for very long.

Oh nice we kept the microtonal tuning on the Thai xylophones despite the modern standard 12TET tuning of the rest of the orchestra. I remember that was a challenge in Civ 6 which is why the Khmer theme used a traditionally tuned Khmer xylophone for the Ancient theme only and swapped to a modern 12TET Western marimba for the later three eras. I'm glad they figured out a way to keep the traditional instrument here.
